Shut up.
He challenged Kerry if that's not good enough for you go see what Buchanan is saying.

John will give us reason to go negative soon enough. I'll let him prove you right before I say more.

Or he could actually have presidential aspirations, and therefore would be better served with Bush in 04 as opposed to Kerry... or not.

John McC did a fine job, and I'm really enjoying watching the C-span coverage.

He'll say something like "Of course John's service in Vietnam was much more noble than Mr. Bush's Guard stint. I agree completely with Mr. Bush on that point".

I'm no fan of John McCain either. However, John knows if Kerry wins the Presidency, he will lose his power as a Republican who can work with Demonrats. He will hold his barbed remarks until after the election.
To: BibChr
Well...I'll admit I was thinking it too. ;-)

Strategic Concept.
I'm a great fan of Dick Cheney.
Now, let's focus on the prize!
McCain for VP.
Post election, Cheney for Sec. State.
Shuts up McCain for 4 years, attracts 3% to 5% of undecideds.
Strengthens Senate relations, because he'll have to carry the Bush agenda.
Takes Haliburton off of the table.
Displaces Powell AFTER the election.
Strengthens State Dept.

I am not "going negative" on McCain. But I will state that seeing him this evening reinforced my position that McCain should not be VP or anything else that could become President. Merely an observation and my own honest opinion.
I also think he will do as you suggest sooner rather than later.
He has a heroic war past. He has served his country gallantly. But I would not want to see him even attempt to prosecute this war on islamonazis...oh sorry...terror. I just don't think he has the moral conviction to do what needs to be done or to make the hard unpopular decisions. HE has spent too many years trying to please folks...and thus is encumbered as JFnK is.

McCain calls the swiftboat ads "dishonest and dishonorable. He has not gained any points in my book. Matter of fact he is still losing points.

Well, I am not sure what to make of McCain....but tonight...he did a very good job for our President.

I'm thinking he was sending a message to we AZ'ns as well.
Many of us have left our ballots blank next to his name in the upcoming primary, and have not been happy with his antics.
We'll see. I'm not holding my breath just yet either.
(although, his speech was pretty....surprising, and good)

You've got his number. He'll have it reversed by dinner tonight. When you look up "fence, straddler" in the dictionary, McCain smiles back at you from the page.

He "undid" his speech on the "Greta lawyers are gods show" on Fox.
McCain went on a babbling rant against the FEC, naming the dim leader and the "right-wing" leader. Very interesting side of McCain who has such disdain for the Swift Vets for truth.

Not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet... but I do give educated guesses.
Contrast the scorn of the first cluster of postings, and the change of tone when McCain underperforms even my grim expectation.
