Unplug it.

Are you logged in?
do you have Sp2?
Reboot
It's Bush's fault.
I had the exact same problem with my new Dell Latitude. Was a problem with the main processor and they replaced the motherboard.
You need to use the Shift key with the i. ;~)
The timing is suspicious
Problem: Windows XP sucks - it has since it was introduced. No ifs, ands or buts. Call a spade a spade.
Solution: Run Windows 2000 or switch operating systems altogether.
There's a worm called msblast that infects machines over networks, it doesn't attach itself to email, it simply infects machines that are connected to the network. And msblast forces the computer to reboot every 30 seconds. I had a laptop that did this, just as soon as I established a connection to my school's wireless network, the fun began. I don't know why AVG doesn't work. But you need a firewall. If you have XP professional, it already has a firewall but you need to turn it on.
You may have a power supply problem. If you have gone over the limitations of the current rating of the supply, it will do a "reboot" by itself. What is actually happening is a short circuit in the power supply, causing a power interruption to the system......
Buy a Mac (sarc) Welcome to FreeRepublic.
Does it warn you that the computer has to shut down? Do you have a broadband connection? If you do, restart your computer in safe mode. Press F8 during bootup. Then run your antivirus stuff.
Sounds like you have a virus, I can't remember which one.
actually i like WinXP :^)
I had this problem with a DFI motherboard and an AMD chip. Using my newer ASUS and the same AMD chip, all is well.
