The Boos That Rocked the Vote: Kerry Daughters Receive Rude Awakening At MTV Awards
Drudge Report ^ | 8/29/04 | Matt Drudge

MTV, ROLLING STONE and the rock and roll establishment -- past and present -- have cast their vote, and their man is John Kerry.

So on Sunday night when John Kerry's daughters were announced to speak at the annual MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, the MTV youth were expected to welcome his daughter's as pop culture princesses.

Instead, in an era of the unexpected, the daughters of the Democratic candidate were met with a resounding wall of boos at the filming in Miami.

From the moment Alexandra and Vanessa started speaking, the boos outweighed anything close to cheers, and the reaction turned worse when the daughters asked the VIACOM youth to vote for their father. So shocked by the reaction, the taller of the two daughters tried to 'shhhhhh' her peers to no avail.

I've been hearing the argument that the easing of abortion restrictions in the '70s has caused the supply of young liberals to suffer, since it's that side of the political aisle who gets the majority of abortions. I've had my suspicions about that argument, but maybe there's something to it.

It's true. I saw some statistical study by an economitrician (sp?)done on it a few years ago. IIIRC there was a 45-55% chance the child would grow up to vote liberal and a 5-10% chance they would vote conservative-@50% wouldn't vote. There was even a thread here on FR that showed how if every black baby (90% of whom would presumably vote democrat) that had been aborted was allowed to live thy would outnumber the population of 5 states (I think it was the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, and Kansas). Hoisted on their own poitard. Ironically, if it wasn't for abortion we would now be deep in the throes of socialism.

The Bush girls WERE there, by video; and they DID get cheers!

When it switched back to the Kerry girls, there were more boos!

Oooh, ouch! I'm sure Kerry and Co. will try to make light of it, but you can bet that incident has the "red alert" flashing over at DNC headquarters.

I tend to feel sorry for them too Dawg...out there trying to sell that inferior product...their father...and catching flak everywhere. They're pretty girls but they evidently feel compelled or are compelled by the Kerry handlers to dress like a pair of whores in order to promote Kerry's candidacy among the presumed "mindless". Everyone knows Kerry would do anything to be elected president. Question: Does the country really need a president that would sell his own daughters to garner support??

Well this guy has a lot more problems besides dressing his kids. Unless you have a co-presidency in the making, I think it's fine that families are out supporting but the kids esp and some wives should be off limits.

Funny, but it doesn't bother me at all about the Ketchup Queen but I hate to see digs about Mrs. Edwards appearance and size. TZ has offended me. She hasn't yet.

Kinda like the bumper sticker:

I Smoke and I Vote!

It just BEGS for another sticker that states:

I DON'T Smoke, so I'LL Vote more often!

"Well this guy has a lot more problems besides dressing his kids."

Absolutely no doubt about it. Dressing his kids however seems to be part of the campaign strategy for smokescreening his numerous more serious problems. Push the girls out there lookin like a coupla pigs and rake in the "hip hop" vote.

Cobra, I understand your point and agree with you - by no means am I calling all 60s era people libs. I was referring specifically to a possibility that the children of those who ARE libs might be rebelling by being conservative. Just a provocative thought to consider. But again, I do get your point - I appologize if you thought I was calling you a lib just because you were born when you were.

No problem my friend. As a college professor used to say, "15% don't get the word." I think it is the same 15% of my contemporaries who were the redical leftist trouble makers that got all the news coverage. They were a pathetic bunch of unwashed, dope-smoking free-sex, fornicators (I'm NOT against sex). Hehehe. Been married to the same babe for 32 years.
