It appears that the Kerry campaign is finally getting some of its own medicine, as it is feeling heat to release the bulk of the Sen. John Kerry's service record.
For months, the campaign has been hiding behind Freedom of Information Act requests and what it has said was an exclusivity contract with its paid historian, Douglas Brinkley.
But Brinkley late Friday said that there was nothing holding back the campaign from releasing documents.
By some counts, there are more than 100 pages of documents related to Kerry's military service that may answer some of the many unanswered questions and mysteries about his time in Vietnam and the citations and awards he claims to have earned. For example:
Why are there three THREE! separate and differently worded citations for Kerry's Silver Star award. On Saturday, former Navy Secretary John Lehman denied that he ever signed that third, generously worded citation, which Kerry has posted on his website.
Why has Kerry claimed that he was awarded a "Combat V" for his Silver Star, when such an award has never been awarded?
Why are there two separate, differently worded citations for Kerry's Bronze Star? Again, with the second officially reworded by Lehman?
Why did Kerry seek a revision in 2001 to the number of campaign stars on his Vietnam service medal? Kerry's website claims Kerry had four, when the Navy says that he deserves only two. These stars are critical, because they indicate the number of military campaigns a soldier served in.

You misapprehend, grasshopper.
What you are seeing is TAUGHT in so-called journalism
schools today.
I don't know about all the others, but that one he is entitled to. Anyone who set foot in the country is, and we have 8-mm film of that, at least. Unless it was taken in Cambodia.
No doubt. It will be the model.

And to their credit, they did call for Kerry to sign the 180 and have all his records open to the media. They haven't been great, but they're not as bad as the Times on this.
TYPEWRITER
As in the personal typewriter Kerry hauled to Viet Nam, where he generously volunteered to type up the unit after-action reports.
Keep your eyes peeled for mentions of KERRY'S TYPEWRITER.
The typewriter he may have used to promulgate his own citations.
That's why he won't and can't sign a Form 180: the world will then know (by the font which differed from official Navy typewriters) that Kerry ginned up his own awards, on his own typewriter.
This may also explain why his original citations had to get "lost," so that they could be replaced with new versions. His own forged bogus self-promoting citations would become apparant, because he typed them on his own machine.
He's so screwed.
Travis I think you are correct about Kerry's typewriter being key.
As your are writer you relate to and understand well the structured habits and patterns of those who write.
Kerry was almost obsessive about typing up after action reports that other Swiftboat Officers hated to make do.
He also was obsessive about typing up his "War Diary" and letters to his parents and one alleged "girlfriend Judy".
One thing I have noticied is that Keery claims he did not type up his "War Diary" during several months as a Swiftboat commmander.
Somehow these missing pages of Lt.(jg) John Kerry's War Diary are not consistent with John Kerry's obsessive habit of writing those fantastic overblown and grandiose tales of the horrible war Richard Nixon forced him to be in.
18 minutes of Nixon audiotapes again?
I thought the MSM said all the docs support Hanoi Boy?
I am hopeful that there will be a watershed moment in the consciousness of the liberal print media. Obviously it is a slim hope. But perhaps someday, students will sit in total astonishment at lectures while professors explain how "investigative journalists," and "reporters" ignored mountains of damning evidence and documents against liberals, but were mighty pit bulls at unearthing irrelevant, inconsequential documents against conservatives.
Edwards is regrettable unavailable. He is beating the bushes to find another doctor to sue.
Gosh yes, didn't you hear? And get this - he's got MEDALS! WOW!
I can just picture the bobble head gum chewers now. Ya mean John Lehman said he didn't sign one of the documents related to one of Kerry's medals? Gee. But what about President Bush being AWOL?
I suspect that there might be a conservative reporter or organization that has suddenly become VERY interested in such documents.
And another thing: Whenever I think of MSM and Kerry I think of "Inspector Cluseau," and I start hearing "The Pink Panther" theme.
See this group of Swift Boats patrolling together? They are NOT SERVING together!!! Only the ones on the SAME BOAT are serving together! Each group of personnel on each boat know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the personnel on the other boat, PERIOD !! If they say they do, they are Republican LIARS !! Unless the one talking is a DemocRAT. Then he is telling the truth, of course.
This idjit needs to release HIS MILITARY RECORDS!
Help the Kerry Campaign With Its paperwork!
