Anti-Kerry 'Swift Boat' Group Vows To Keep Up Ad Campaign
AFP: 8/29/2004
WASHINGTON, Aug 29 (AFP) - The controversial group of veterans, whose television advertisements attacking Democratic White House hopeful John Kerry sparked a national debate, vowed Sunday to keep up their campaign until the November 2 election.
Retired admiral Roy Hoffman, who founded the so-called "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth," told Time magazine that since their first, relatively small ad ran in three states earlier this month, the group had raised 2.5 million dollars from 37,183 donors.
"We knew that we were going to stir the pot, but I had no idea we`d be this successful," Hoffman said.
The group`s ads questioned Kerry`s honesty and his record in Vietnam, where he was wounded three times and awarded the Silver and Bronze Stars for valor.
But the group, required by law to operate independently of political campaigns, has also come under fire for its links to President George W. Bush`s re-election effort. Two members of Bush`s campaign team have resigned because of their ties to the group.
They should drop the first and third ads and just keep running the second spot and let Kerry's own words do the damage.""
I think they have a 5+ ad series planned. I don't think they will discontinue any of the first ones, just that they will bring along new ones, and if the money keeps rolling in, they can run them in more states, and some of the smaller markets. With the internet, the ads are being pushed all around and VERY cheaply.
From what I have seen, there isn't a big expensive production cost to these ads, wither. They are using the real vets, not high priced actors, etc. There isn't a big set, mostly stills and videos of old remarks by Kerry, and they are easy to understand.
More than anything, the emotion of their TRUTH comes shining thru. This is going to be fun.
where did you read/see that mccain said this?
I would send 'em a c-note also but unfortunately I gave it to the Indians on Saturday. I should have something left in the center console of my car. Seems to me I got out of there with some money left.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
BTTT
I called in and mentioned hanoi john's little paris trip and that he voted to send our guys & gals to war, then voted against the money to buy their food, shoes, kevlar vest and armor for their humvees and against the $1.3 Billion in Veterans health care that was in the $87B package :-)
Do you want ANOTHER source also? Is that what you are asking?

Brit's 9PM show was covering it.
Make your own with your printer. If you have a Print Shop program it's easier. You can but bumper sticker paper or get full sheet sticker paper at places that sell printer paper. Or use plain paper and put it inside your car/truck/van window with tape.
I'd like to know on a day by day basis what the running total is.
Why?
I don't think they can use a half-eaten Crispy Creme donut, a twelve year-old condom (still wrapped) and the jewel box for a J-Lo CD (slightly cracked.) Oh, wait, that's in the center console of my car. :)
....And I also purchased 25 copies of "Unfit for Command" through Amazon.com when it first became available for pre-order. I have been handing them out to my friends and family, but it seems that any "non-believers" I know have gradually seen the light and the READING MATTER is the final nail in the Kerry/Edwards campaign coffin!!
FOX just announced it was a cable buy. Wish they had the money to blanket the main stream pravadas so all America would notice.
All the postings are correct---FOCUS EXCLUSIVELY ON HIS TESTIMONY AND ANTI-AMERICAN ACTIVITIES.
GIVE TILL IT HURTS!
In my opinion, it is the best bang a Vast Right Wing Extremist Conspirator can get for his buck.
PS - Sign the SF-180, John.
Listening to Drudge, Thomas Lipscomb is on...he said Major Garret of FNC broke his story on hanoi john's medal muddle that Mr. Lipscomb broke in the Sun Times. He's giving lots of details, and about the KC meeting. He, he.
I might add, you can buy magnetic vent covers for cheap at the Depot. About a buck a piece and you could make two stickers out of each one. Magnets are better because you can remove them easily when you have to park in your friendly leftist neighborhood.
They need to keep pushing their message.
The idea that any Vets could vote for a back-stabbing fraud like Kerry is astounding.
I'm sending another c-note this week.
As I've said before, it makes me feel good, and it's the best money I ever spent. -OhMike
At the Home Depot?? The stuff I found at Hobby Lobby was rather expensive for just 1 or 2 signs.
I just read about the Paris trip, where Kerry and other VVAW folks basically committed treason by presuming to negotiate with the Vietnamese Communists.
And it's documented on the FBI web site.
Unbelievable that this man is running for president, or that he has held any public office in our country.
