Yet Another Kerry Whopper
Senate Record ^ | 1998 | Kerry

Posted on 08/29/2004 5:13:01 PM PDT by silverleaf

Yet another Kerry whopper- delivered by Kerry in 1997 as a eulogy and read by Kerry into the Senate record - to honor the dead? Or to insert a bit of shameless self-promotion? Wonder how the family of the dead sailor feels now that the Swift Vets have provied a truthful version of events? PS: Note that even in 1997 Kerry cannot resist ruminating upon his "proximity" to Cambodia. http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getpage.cgi?position=all&page=S186&dbname=1998_record

I'm no fan of Kerry. But if he wants to say nice things in memory of a friend or shipmate who passed away, I've got no problem with that. Most people (not just politicians) strive to say nice things at a funeral, even at the cost of stretching the truth from time to time -- it's for the benefit of the surviving family members.

Kerry urinating on himself is more like it. He's toast, ala S.O.S.

Agree with you. Kerry may have been a complete opportunist in Viet Nam and should be held accountable if his actions led to the injury or death of one of his crewmates, but those brave men or their memory should not be sullied as a result of his actions or words.

"even at the cost of stretching the truth from time to time --"

I see where you are coming from, but the crux of this is that Kerry requested that the text of his (padded) eulogy be added to the Congressional Record! How psychopathic is that?

Speaking of "Whopper""...

I heard that Paris Hilton has been hired to do Burger King ads.
