1. "I think that politically, historically, the one thing that people try to do, that society is structured on as a whole, is an attempt to satisfy their felt needs, and you can satisfy those needs with almost any kind of political structure, giving it one name or the other. In this name it is democratic; in others it is communism; in others it is benevolent dictatorship. As long as those needs are satisfied, that structure will exist."

And where is the satisfaction of their felt need for FREEDOM? With that need met, the vast majority of people can satisfy their other needs themselves. But take freedom away, and the satisfaction of all other needs are transferred from the individual to the state, rendering them forever slaves.

2. loveliberty2: "One time Kerry was ordered to destroy a Viet Cong village but disobeyed orders and suggested that the Navy Command simply send in a Psychological Warfare team to be friend the villagers with food, hospital supplies, and better educational facilities."

Isn't insubordination a court-martialable offense?

"On other issues, Kerry wants 'to almost eliminate CIA activity. The CIA is fighting its own war in Laos and nobody seems to care.'"

Did Kerry ever repudiate his position to eliminate the CIA? That would have really helped win the war on terrorism.

Do the Swiftees know about these quotes? They're both pretty damning.

"Senator, I will say this. I think that politically, historically, the one thing that people try to do, that society is structured on as a whole, is an attempt to satisfy their felt needs, and you can satisfy those needs with almost any kind of political structure, giving it one name or the other. In this name it is democratic; in others it is communism; in others it is benevolent dictatorship. As long as those needs are satisfied, that structure will exist."

This man is CRAZY. Surely he has proved himself INCAPABLE of understanding the suffering of people who have survived under dictatorships or communism..and THAT is scary.

Did he think the boat people were fleeing candyland?

Does he think people who risk their lives to get to our shores from Cuba are simply stupid misfits?

This man is CRAZY. In the hillary - bill ( billary) clinton kind of crazy-able to lie with abandon to further his cause.

In response to your desire to have my post pulled, I would like to point out to you and the other BushBots that my comments are about a person (with a less than perfect past) and not about conservative ideology.

Since conservative thought is not about writing a hagiography for fallable leadership, my opinion (while contradictory) on this matter is as valid as yours.

Moreover, if the moderators were to delete such statements, FR would be a place for Republicans and Bush supporters rather than for conservatives. In my mind there is a distinct difference.

It is also how I understand FR to function. In fact, if you care to remove all those items at FR critical of W. as a person and a policy-maker, you cease to have a place for discussion.

I apologize if your programming does not allow such dissent.

You didn't express an opinion, you engaged in vicious name calling, deliberate LIES against President Bush.
I won't repeat what you said, because I have no desire to propagate it.

Your post was worthy of DU, not FR.
