America's biggest Olympic hero yesterday accused George Bush of exploiting the Athens Games for his own political advantage in the run-up to the presidential election.

Carl Lewis, who won nine Olympic gold medals in athletics in a record-breaking career, condemned Bush for using the presence of Iraqi and Afghan teams in Athens in a television advertisement to boost his chances of re-election.

We're bombing Afghanistan? Not since Spring of '02, except for an occasional precision air strike. Like most celebrity commentators, Lewis is just like those numbskulls on Leno who don't know who's on the $1 bill or think that Baghdad is in Texas.

Somebody needs to tell Carl that the U.S. fought TWO wars with Great Britain, yet the two have been allies in combat for almost a century now. Or that the United States, under one Democrat President, fought against the Soviets in Russia in the 1920's yet supported and fought as allies only two decades later under another Dem. In other words he needs to get a clue.
