I'm going to try and put this thought into words. I hope it makes sense.
Let's leave out the traditional illegal immigrants for this exercise.
As we know, radical Islam is not only a religion, but a political, governmental, and penal system as well. America has always guaranteed freedom of religion on our soil. The ME Islamic Jihadists have declared war on Western Civilization, politically as well as religiously as stated in their Koran.
Now, we have millions of American citizens who practice this religion. They have constitutionally guaranteed rights towards the practice of their religion, as do you and I. Those of us who have read up on Islam and what the Koran compels them to do, know that it is entirely possible for your buddy who runs the mini market to obey his religion first, the laws of his country not even considered.
We're in a pickle. Do we violate our own Constitution and ban a religion? Do we deport every Muslim? Meanwhile, all over the world, the terrorists are relentlessly waging war against everyone...like termites feasting on your house.
Islam has been compared to a Satanic cult. Who else but Satan could devise such a trap for the Western world? That includes Israel, btw. It's already started. The ridiculous demands of staying veiled for drivers licenses, demanding special hospital gowns, loud speakers on mosques bleating babble 5 times a day...while most communities banned the ringing of church bells years ago. To see what happens next, look to France, Great Britain, and other countries. You think it won't happen? We're doing it to ourselves via our leftist America hating elected representatives, our membership in the UN, and a host of other parasites. We've sold our birthright.
No, I am serious. Only the devil could dream this up, imo. Apologies to any atheists or agnostics if I have offended anyone.
I pray that Bush can inflict a death blow to terrorism in the coming four years, because who knows who is going to win the election in 2008.
I skimmed it precisely because of the fact that I thought it was a little over the top. If you notice, there have been better written articles about this particular subject posted here.
I never said I agreed 100% with this particular article. I do agree that ME illegals are crossing over into our country, and they ain't here to mow my weeds, or clean my house. If they are not here to do the jobs Americans won't do, why are they here?
I'm already scared, so I don't need to read an article with inflated stats to make me nervous.
Put up giant billboards with pictures of Susan Estrich being really upset on them all along the border. They'll hightail it back home faster than you can say "Allah Akbar."
Just picked-up a Beowulf .50cal, to go with my AR-10 (.308cal) and Class III AR-15s (.223cal); an AR-50 .50cal BMG is next in October. What are you getting, V?
This sounds like turkey for Thanksgiving.
Nevermind; I get it.
Bookmarked for later this morning; going back to sleep for a while.
Undeniably important post. Only question, when is Bush going to put a stop to this mass invasion? Well, when they blow up half of New Mexico or Las Vegas? Or Colorado?
It is a crisis, but we hope Bush does something about policing the borders after the election. Obviously Kerry's worse than useless on this as well as anything else, but even leaving aside terrorist infiltration...until prosperity and decent govt. blooms south of the border, people will head north. That's fine, and it's worked in the past, but we can't continue to absorb millions of people...well, V.D. Hanson has said plenty on the subject, as you know. Okay, it's a side issue. What's on the table at the moment is getting GW reelected. Focus, focus, focus!
The curious thing about America is that when adults come here with every intention of going home once they've made enough money, and they have kids who go to school and mix with others...the kids become Americans. Freedom is in the air, we breathe it in every minute of every day. We're like no other nation on earth, and if you have half a brain, you recognize this at an early age. You're changed forever. You see life differently and know you can be whatever you want to be and the only thing to stop you is your own ambition or lack thereof and willingness to work hard. Go around the world, have a good time, and come home and kiss the ground you walk on.
This doesn't address the undeniable problem of assimilating many, many millions of people whose culture and language and ethical background isn't like ours. We're exporting capitalism and American know-how to change the third world, but there are potholes along the way. Terrorism is one of them.
Several parents in the small town where I live had kids who were living in Mexico a few years back. The kids were arrested, probably rightfully so on marijuana charges, and jailed. It took the parents two or more years and thousands of dollars in bribes to get the kids out of jail on bail. Corruption wasn't the word. They held raffles, begged, borrowed, and God knows what else, yes, got congressmen and senators involved, although what good Fat Teddy and Kerry did, I can't imagine. Finally, the kids were released, but it was a horror show, and I'll bet they'll never go anywhere near Mexico again.
One small point we should be aware of and appreciate: those of us who live on the border have to deal with trespassers on their land, trash, fires, and who knows who they are...people who end up dying there, what if they have guns and shoot you?...how to protect your home, family, livestock. If you call the border patrol, do they show up in a few minutes or hours or at all? Does the Mexican army or police cross the border to shoot at Americans? Drug runners, terrorists, and poor, miserable people who've paid coyotes to take them to the desert and point them north. Living on the border isn't easy.
Since a majority of Americans want tighter borders and more strict immigration code enforcement - not revision, is it too far out of order to expect our President to represent US?
Let's do it!
Well, Ruby Ridge happened and so did Waco.
I dont think the hoax part matters much. What mattered, is the mindset of us back then and now.
We would have done these things freely because the government told us to, unless strong leadership educated in our own government system of rights is there to command us otherwise.
That is what I got out of it, the civics lesson.
They've been running a series on the History Channel about Rome recently. One episode dealt with the wall. It was built to define the limits of the empire, beyond the wall Rome wouldn't bother to send her soldiers, etc.. But in time, the wall was breached by barbarians who wanted in. And they came by the thousands, eventually sacking Rome itself more than once. When Rome's ordinary citizens grew lazy and hired others to protect their way of life, they lost it. I started out thinking this was reminiscent of the US, but on the other hand, it smacks of Europe...who are building a wall, by the way...with the expertise of that awful Israel.
Metrosexuals and greenies and leftist hags...we hope they grow up to be sensible adults. But odds are that some will end up as Hill and Bill and Kerry, unfortunately. We weed them out asap. It must be really hard to live next door to America, cheek by jowl with this huge, riotous, loud, bunch of party-lovers, hell-raisers, creative geniuses, testosterone driven adolescent nation...we're like a box of fireworks that goes off day and night. No wonder Canada gets upset and everybody else in the world just wants to get here and join the party.
Sorry, I think I was preaching to the choir there.
