I don't think staying in this race for president is Kerry's decision to make. But, whether he stays or "becomes unavailable" (maybe nervous breakdown, prostate), the strength of the media remains a deciding factor in whether this country can remain self-governing.
Hillary is one of Kerry's "Fabulous Wailers".
O'Neill said in the PAST that he would vote for Edwards. Since the Kerry campaign has dissed all the SBV's to the eyeballs, I doubt that is still true. I see O'Neill voting only for Bush at this 2004 election.
There are about 90+ days to the election. He's not going anywhere.

Life is full of uncertainty. There are NO legal barriers to substitution of candidate, up to the day of election, and even after the day of election.

In the last 12 years since the Clintons have been the face of the rats, the party has lost 8 Senate seats and the majority, given the GOP a 24 seat majority in the house by losing close to 70 total seats, and are now about to ensure that the country reelects another Republican President.

So what? I don't mean that to be a slap, BTW, but as an honest challenge. What, God forbid, happens if a candidate has an aneurism and dies? The way I read the rules you provided, the party can substitute.
