I am becoming a gadfly. I cannot socialize without discussing politics and then it wells up in me. I am making others uncomfortable. The evening is ruined because find myself speaking in very unflattering terms about a man that should have been prosecuted for war crimes he admitted to the millions of people while defaming good and honorable men and women who served our country instead of leading a major political party. I was fine until that someone just had to report for duty. Now all the hate and anger of the late 60 and early 70s is revisited. It is welling up in me again. Damn Kerry. I hate the man. I hate the left. I hate the hate America bunch. I hate the creeps that sold our generation down the creek.
Am I the only one that feels this way? Are there any others that act as I do? Are there others that cannot seem to control their ire? Any suggestions as to how I can manage my anger?
I don't think you are alone. I heard callers with similar feelings on two radio talk shows today. Their voices wavered with tempered rage at Kerry over his post-war treason. I feel that people are just now understanding what Kerry did after the war and realizing he is a Fonda. The anger is rising.
#2: Keep your politics to yourself unless in friendly circumstances.
#3: Trust no one.
#4: The truth is out there.
#5: Life Sucks.
#6: Embrace the Suck.
#7: Buy a high performance car.
#8: Acquire one or more psycho girlfriends.
Wait...that's my summer.
Study hard.
Two weeks back was a tough one for me, I think it was all the polls and the morons supporting Kerry and his ilk. I had to turn it off, the news, the computer, the radio and go do something else. I ended up going to the beach for a day and took a visit to our local zoo one afternoon and did some strenuous work over the weekend I had been procrastinating. Helped a lot! Take a break for a couple days, let it go for a bit and do something fun, something you like.
Born and raised in Boston,Massachusetts.
Just laugh and thank God you're not one of them.
Oh THANK you.. my husband is afraid to take me anywhere these days and when people come over or we go to dinner he asks me not to bring up politics -- even though all our friends are Republicans, they aren't INFORMED Republicans!
If you need to know. Excuse my absence. I always lurked while building my business. In 2001 I found myself on the street after working for DoD companies since '80. Since then I have kept myself busy giving many hours in community efforts while redefining myself from a employee mindset to a businessman's mind set. Not an esasy task.
Well, if EVER there was a reason to vote Bush.
JOHN KERRY RUINS YOUR PULLING TECHNIQUE!
I have a wonderful daughter who has the opposite problem. Here is a young school teacher with solid, decent, conservative ideals. She is good natured, but there are no unattached men with decent morals around. ANd she's not alone. I see many single decent women (who don't use cell phones). But not as many single men. Maybe they are all wanting Britney Spears look alikes or something.
I know- it's not enough that they will be voting for Bush. They need to be well informed enough to be able to spread the word!!
Watch out for mold.
; )
I can quit anytime I want to.
I agree whole heartedly with all you hate :) I have noticed the same thing happening to me also. I have to tell myself before I go out to not get involved with any political discussions. I find it harder and harder to refrain though when surrounded by liberals and being forced to endure what they talk about.
Fortunately, a guy named Reagan was president then.
I may be going to hell in a bucket, but at least I'm enjoying the ride.
