Vietnam Veterans Against the War, the organization Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry helped lead in the early '70s after returning from his four-month tour of duty, decided to take down the U.S. flag that hung above the door of its Washington office after it caused "bad feelings."

The minutes of a July 1971 staff meeting at VVAW include the following item under the heading "Washington office."

VVAW turned the flag upside-down -- 70s photo (I think from "The New Soldier") among several posted elsewhere today or yesterday. Sorry, I didn't save the reference, but maybe somebody will remember the photo.

Bob Dornan was just on Hannity & Colmes and said that Kerry watched others burn the US flag less than 10 feet from him, and did nothing.

Dornan said he has got it on film as he shot it all with a camera. If he releases the footage with the flag burning, it will be over for Kerry.

Dag nab it! I missed it. TV and computer - not in the same room, So, tell me I don't have a FR addiction. LOL!

I was actually waiting to see Hannity tonight, after his "wanna bet" comment last night. I remember his bet started at $100 I think, and went up to $100K. The 1971 Kerry buddy, - said, "I'll bet a case of beer."

That's the kind of friends John Kerry has these days. Just some left-over ANTI-anti-anti-anti- folks.

Did you see that?

I doubt the Post would have had photos of the flag burning in Washington D.C. on those days in April 1971, by Lt. Kerry's ragtag, stinky troops, but if the Washington Star was around, they would have had it. Unfortunately that newspaper is long gone. The TV stations in DC were all around at that time....however 33 years is a long time. I doubt it would easy to get such footage. Transcripts from the declassified FBI field reports that I have read from those VVAW-WSO D.C. days were amazing. There was LOT of marijuana/hard drugs, under age girls flocking around those unclean "vets" (for sex right out on The Mall on park benches), American flag burning, vandalism of State flags, the "F" word everywhere (as in Forrest Gump scene with the VVAW rally),strewn trash, feces, VC flags waving proudly, you name it.

So many of those born after 1971 have no idea what was happening back then.

And they're voting NOW. Not all are koolaiders, but too many are, and they have no idea...... they only have what their college professors have told them. Very Scary indeed!
