Heard this mentioned by O'Neill on Liddy today. From the Kerry eulogy of Thomas Beladeau submitted into the Congressional Record.
There was the time we were carrying special forces up a river and a mine exploded under our boat sending it 2 feet into the air. We were receiving incoming rocket and small arms fire and Tommy was returning fire with his M-60 machine gun when it literally broke apart in his hands. He was left holding the pieces unable to fire back while one of the Green Berets walked along the edge of the boat to get Tommy another M-60. As he was doing so, the boat made a high speed turn to starboard and the Green Beret kept going--straight into the river. The entire time while the boat went back to get the Green Beret, Tommy was without a machine gun or a weapon of any kind, but all the time he was hurling the greatest single string of Lowell-Chelmsford curses ever heard at the Viet Cong. He literally had swear words with tracers on them!
Was this the mine that launched his dog, VC, into orbit, only to reenter, unharmed, and land on another boat??

Kerry joked about the time a Vietnamese woman nearly gave birth in Whitlow's arms as their boat sped to a medical unit. And he reminded Belodeau of the day a water mine exploded under the boat, catapulting their dog, VC, from the deck of their boat onto a nearby swift boat.
One may forgive a man who lies a little during a eulogy to make a point, but how do you forgive a man who pointedly requests that his fabrication be added to the Congressional Record? I can't. Kerry is narcisisitically psychopathic or, in other words, he's a lying bitch!
Just more nuance, but what this really says (if this version is true) that even the contusion wasn't a result of a enemy mine.
So neither the schrapnel/rice or the forearm bruise was a result of enemy action.
As he was doing so, the boat made a high speed turn to starboard and the Green Beret kept going--straight into the river.
He is talking about Rassmann. It other accounts he says that Rassman was blown off the boat. Here he is saying Rassman fell off because the boat turned sharply.
"...Rassman fell off because the boat turned sharply."
Just as many surmised, or else just the jack-rabbit start threw him out.
The link returns me this: "Please resubmit your search Search results are only retained for a limited amount of time.Your search results have either been deleted, or the file has been updated with new information."
Could you supply the link to the query engine and the query criteria?
Could not have been; if the acceleration imparted to the boat was only enough to lift it two feet out of the water, it would only have lifted the dog two feet - not near enough to land on another boat.
Unless of course the dog incident occurred in a parallel universe having different physical laws...
It was PCF 3 that was lifted two feet in the air. Now you know that Kerry wrote the after action report. Used the same language, just a different boat.

Your link doesn't work. Do you have another?
" . . . and a mine exploded under our boat . . ." Under OUR boat??? Or does he mean that it blew up somewhere UNDER the surface of the entire river? Gotta admit, the stories get better and better.
"He literally had swear words with tracers on them!"
A flashback from one of Kerry's "trips" in Viet Nam. Does LSD cause one eye to droop?
...Hey I pick up my axe and fight like a bomber now
...Yeah but you still blast me down to the ground

(another version? Just damn.)
Search on "Swift boat". Then choose the first item returned "THOMAS M. BELODEAU (Senate - January 28, 1998)"
Sorry to make it so hard but it looks like Thomas searches expire so the URLs don't work.
It seems to be a common Kerry theme, a mine goes off under the boat, lifts it two feet into the air, and something interesting happens. Does the boat never sustain any damage? A mine exploding under an aluminum skinned boat with enough force to lift it two feet out of the water would likely do damage. I guess that is another problem that occurs when you don't think your lies through.
bump TO SUPPORT THE NEW SWIFT VETS AD AND GEORGE BUSH... http://swift2.he.net/~swift2/gardner2.mpg
As pointed out last night by another freeper, the 94 boat was on the right side of the river and a starboard turn would have put it on the bank. I wouldn't have wanted to take a helm command from Kerry.
Darn Swiftboats! It was like they had a mind of their own.
