Around 150 people are surrounding a Fox News van that is reporting from Union Square. The reporter is being heckled and several pieces of dumpstered bread were thrown at the reporter. People are chanting, including "Show the body bags! Show the body bags!" There are still many hundreds of people in Union Square.
Finnman says it's Broadway and 57th. At second glance, I think he's right.
Brit has it right: Fair, Balanced and Unafraid.
I'm thinking: Fair, Balanced, Locked and Loaded
One of the problems is Manhattan south of 14th Street were villages taken over by the City. Greenwich is a prime example of this.
If anyone here in town for the confab wants to navigate Greenwich Village (east and west), freepmail me. Took me 15 years to figure that neighborhood out.
They cover their faces like islamofacist waiting for orders to behead their nect victim.
Yeah, restaurants, bars, and lounges keep coming and going in that space. Last time I looked it was an upscale pizza joint called "Otto." I doubt it'll be the same thing next year. ;-)
Gorgeous building though. I just saw an apartment there advertised in the New York Observer, asking several million bucks.
Amazing when you consider that 30 years ago it was an NYU dorm.
People wearing masks should be arrested on sight. an' call it profiling.
OMG, never thought of that. Had to get up and go compose myself.
Agiprop: The Kulaks Must Be Destroyed as a Class!
I agree they're worried, McAwful has been all over the TV disavowing any knowledge of these people, any coordination with these people, and any support for these people.
Which tells me .. of course they're coordinating and supporting .. they just don't want the DNC to get the blame.
Sounds like they could use a "Trunk Monkey."
That was the first bar I ever went to in Manhattan. The year 1980 or so....black and white tiled floors and lots of dark wood and a fair number of babes. Long bar to yer right as you entered.
...oh well.
Speaking of NYU, they tore down the Palladium (and Julian's) to make way for a dorm. The East Village is fast turning into another college town.
Avenue B has bistros and Avenue C has a faux brauhaus. Never thought I'd ever see that.
I do not know if this is a new item the police are going to use...however, I do know about this new ingredient in the Israeli army's arsenal for dispersing the Palestinian rabble.....perhaps the police commissioner Kelly has gotten a sample from the Israelis.....we shall see..or, rather, we shall smell....
While the convention is in session, I don't think they're going to be allowed anywhere near it. I do believe there is going to be a "protest march" going right past it at some point though, either right before the convention gets underway or at some point where the building will be largely empty.
Whenever I see one of those protestors, I imagine R. Lee Ermey from Full Metal Jacket getting right in their face and saying "WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION, SCUMBAG?!?!?!?!"
McAwful has been doing that for the past week. I suspect they are pretty worried about the reaction from middle America.
Thats good to know.
Did a google search for "New York Convention Protesters"...lots of interesting stuff.
I just don't like the soldier with a skeleton face .. a good strong AMERICAN face would be better.
Seems that Times Square has an ugly aura to it...
These protests are funded by Soros through Tides Foundation = Heinz Foundation money.
And .. I've seen direct links from Tides to Heinz to Kerry to Soros.
