Max Cleland's 'Hanoi Jane' Connection
Newsmax ^ | Aug. 26, 2004

Posted on 08/26/2004 11:57:01 AM PDT by ArmyBratproud

The Kerry campaign sent Max Cleland down to President Bush's Texas ranch yesterday to complain about the Swiftvet ad campaign, hoping that Cleland's image as the quintessential Vietnam veteran who sacrificed three limbs in a wartime accident will cause other vets to take notice.

But there's one detail about Cleland that Kerry & Co are hoping nobody notices: The fact that he's been bankrolled over the years by Vietnam veteran Public Enemy No. 1, "Hanoi Jane" Fonda.

Is this going to get ugly and pit veterans against veterans? This won't play well when pics hit mainstream media.

I'm a Georgian.

According to OLD MEDIA and virtually every democrat on TV, I voted for Saxby Chambliss over Max Cleleand because those evil republicans questioned Max's patriotism.

According to ME, I voted AGAINST Max Cleland for choosing to side with unions instead of national security.

Is this the same Max Cleland who blew himself up with a grenade?

No wonder folks in GEORGIA voted him out.

According to Max, he was voted out by evil conservatives (led by Saxby Chambliss and GWB) who hate veterans and amputees.

Of course, his loss could never have been the result of his ultra-liberal voting record. {/sarcasm}

It is really not wise to bring out Fonda and put her with Kerry again. Really. But hey, let them get on stage together. Old times. It's his life.

I said it earlier and I will continue to say it!

Ya take the dumbest clown the U.S. Army has ever produced (Hey Max, ya don't pick up dropped grenades, arsehole, you dive for cover! duhhhhh)
Why this guy makes Gomer Pyle look like a genius...
and Max comes back from Nam letting people think just because he didn't have the good sense God gave a jackass into believing he's some kind of "Audie Murphy", then he gets elected to Congress and even after he loses his office, and then W comes along and gives him a $136K a year "consulting" job????
For which Clealand promptly stabs W in the back for his appreciation!
Excuse me, but there is definitely something wrong with this picture...
why I wouldn't let Cleland be a "consultant" for a one car funeral procession!!!!
Helloooooooooo?????

Who the hell is "watching the store?" !!!

Some things never change...

Page 200: "I called the media. . . . I said, 'If I take some crippled veterans down to the White house and we chain ourselves to the gates, will we get coverage?' 'Oh, yes, we will cover that.' So you are reduced to a position where the only way you can get your ideas out is to stage events."

I am also a Georgian and voted against Max Cleland, as did the majority of the voters in the state. No one slimed his military service as he would have you think. Georgians voted against him because he failed to represent the people of Georgia. Time and time again the chose to vote with Tom Daschel, Ted Kennedy and the ultra left wing of the dimocrap party.

Is this the same Max Cleland who blew himself up with a grenade?
......................................

Also the same Max Cleland who was appointed by President George W. Bush to the board of directors of the Export-Import Bank in 2003. The same Max Cleland who is spending nearly all of his time attacking President Bush is, amazingly enough, a Bush political appointee.

Cleland's being robbed of what dignity he has -- he deserves better than being used as Kerry's "house cripple"

You really believe this is going to hit Main stream media?????? I will be loaded in gold tomorrow also!!!!!

The media in general and newsprint in particular (90%) are doing all they can to elect Kerry.

The Big Question is, "what is the media going to get in return for Kerry?"

Since he's a willing participant, it's not robbery.

Fooled me again.I usually avoid clicking on anything by Newsmax.Their headlines are about as accurate as Kerry's biography.

Unfortunately Mrs. Ted Turner resided in Atlanta for about 5 years and gave to every Democrat and every lefty cause.I bet Zell got a few also.Probably attended a few of her pro-abortion benefits also.

"Is this going to get ugly and pit veterans against veterans? This won't play well when pics hit mainstream media."

Kerry pitted vets against vets back in his anti-war days and the media lapped it up. Kerry and the VVWA were the ones who made it ugly. They're the ones who labeled their fellow soldiers rapists, baby killers, murderers, etc. The lies they told created a hostile environment in this country and returning vets were subjected to that hostility. They robbed Vietnam vets of the war honors they deserved. The only difference between then and now is that Kerry is on the receiving end, and this time, he's going to lose the battle.

You have a point:
