I've said this numerous time on FR...I think it's a big mistake for the Dems to bash Guard Service as something "lesser".It belittles all those serving in any military position who did not end up in Nam. It says "If you're not John Kerry. you're not worthy of respect".

In the post election analysis, it's going to be impossible to avoid the conclusion that the mainstream press was actively working to get Kerry elected. Frankly, I think Kerry's toast. Bush hasn't even started his attack. A few rounds of "Kerry claims he can get things done but what memorable thing did he do during 20 years in the senate?" combined with the fallout from the second SwiftVets ad and Kerry's flip-flopping and I think he has no place to go but down.

Odd thing that you don't see a group out there called the "Alabama National Guard Pilots for Truth," isn't it?

Thanks for the post on Pres Bush's military service. The most pertinent part to me is the very damaging, and continuing, slow response the Republican party in general and the Bush White House in particular has to serious situations that they allow to fester and grow. At least they do respond at some point unlike past elections but it seems to always be a day late and a dollar short. It's like Republican campaign managers simply cannot conceive of, or accept, the absolute evil inherent in the RAT party. RAT SOP is to throw out anything and build on it till the public accepts it as fact and by the time the GOP takes the matter seriously, the lie is ingrained. It is only after the RATS draw blood that the campaigns respond. The RATS even joke about the "dumb" party because they know how much they get by with before we strike back.

This is sad...I have not heard this story...I am beginning to despise the people in the press. It may be dishonest of Kerry's people to put the worst light on things but it is the medias resposibility to point out the facts not advance the lies.
The swiftboat coverage is a prime example of the maddening bias of the media.

All in all, the documents show that Bush served intensively for four years and then let up in his fifth and sixth years, although he still did enough to meet Guard requirements. Can you tell me what the difference in that and John Kerry leaving Vietnam early and then asking for an early out is?

to new Democratic attacks on George W. Bush and his service in the Texas Air National Guard. "George Bush used his father to get into the National Guard, was grounded and then went missing," says an ad produced by MoveOn.org's political action committee. Hmmmmm .. gee .. who is this sailing with President Kennedy and who also dated the First Lady's step sister???
