Republicans Not Voting for Britney Spears (Illinois Family Institute/GOP Convention Protest)
MSNBC ^ | 8/26/04 | Jeanette Walls

Some GOP'ers have a message for Britney Spears: Stay home.

The belly baring pop star is being courted to attend the Republican in New York next week, according to the Chicago Sun Times, and that has sparked outrage among some conservative groups.

'Through her immature antics, Ms. Spears has probably done more to undermine sexual morality than all of the misguided legislation introduced in the United States over the past decade,' the Illinois Family Institute wrote in an e-mail to members.

'It would be the height of hypocrisy for a party that claims to represent wholesome values to celebrate her.'

Citing Spears lesbian smooch with Madonna, her 'general immodesty,' and her annulled 56 hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, the group is urging Republicans to call the GOP convention hotline to protest any appearance by Spears.

The IFI isnt the only conservative group that wants Britney to stay away from the GOP convention.

'I do hope she won't be there,' Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition tells the scoop.

You should call them by their name, and say to them:

"Go, and sin no more."

The convention is a symbol of honor, integrity, morality, patriotism, and service to your country.

And pop-tart Spears is the most significant entertainer of the last 100 years.

Fun fact: "Britney Spears" is an anagram of "Presbyterians"

If you want a celebrity to appeal to younger people use The Rock,Arnold, Chuck Norris, Steve Austin, or some conservative celebrity who represent values we can embrace. What is not conservative about kicking serious @ss!

I guess my point is that we should always strive to be Christ-like, and to do so, we must obviously emulate his behavior.

So in a case such as this I believe that people should ask themselves, should we allow our witness to be obscured by our verbiage?

Does Christ use the word "slutbag" when thinking of Britney?

Now maybe Christ would not say that Britney Spears IS a "slutbag", but I'm sure that he would agree that objectively she dresses like a prostitute and she obvioously does that in order that men can lust after her in their hearts. I'm certain he would not call her "holy". Perhaps he might refer to her as a "Jezebel."

That being said, I'm sure that if I were to be held to the emulating Christ standard, I would have to force myself to "love" John Kerry. As it stands right now, I'd "love" to see John Kerry tried for treason.

Do you "love" John Kerry? Honestly?

The Rock was at the convention in '00. But, wrestling has taken a major downturn in the past four years. Doesn't get anywhere near the ratings it used to. That kind of knocks out The Rock and Steve Austin.

Chuck Norris is probably a joke to most people under 25. After all, you have to admit, Walker: Texas Ranger was kind of a cheesy show.

Arnold is there, but he doesn't have the same "street cred" he used to, now that he's a politician too.

Call me crazy, but I don't have a problem with Britney being there. I think she could add some spunk to the convention.

I wonder if Britney will be making-out with Madonna on stage at the GOP Convention?

If you'll excuse the pun, gay marriage is nothing but a "back-door" way to socialized medicine using AIDS as the "skeleton key".
In America, the highest rate of AIDS is in the gay community. When gays are allowed to marry it would give a presumtion, a foothold to allow the spouse to be added to the other spouse's health insurance.
Currently, the addition of a spouse to the other's health insurance is not mandatory. Once two men are married, it moves to a civil rights issue. The courts will move and make insurance coverage mandatory. AIDS cases will be forced to be covered under insurance policies, the increase in payouts would begin to effect profits of insurance companies,
More insurance will began withdrawing health insurance policies, the government with have to step in and socialized medicine is there.
Convoluted and tinfoil hat, maybe, but...

I hope the IFI doesn't get word that Kid Rock is coming..

Kid Rock is an icon of stability compared to Britney Spears.

You'd think they would be too busy fighting with the Log Cabin Republicans to care about Britney.

You don't get it. It's the Britneys of America that lend credence to the Log Cabin Republicans.

Whenever it is pointed out that the Gay-stapo is constantly trying to sexualize children, encourage premarital sex among children, undermine the traditional family, and trivialize marriage, all they need to do is point a finger at Twitney and say, "'Scuse me! What about Ms. Born-Again-Christian-I'm-a-Virgin-then-Shacked-Up-With-Justin-then-Got-Married-and-Divorced-Within-a-Three-Day-Period who is, by the way, a Republican? Hmmmmmmmm???"

The Dems have their embarrassing lefties to ruin things for them; we've got the God Squad to ruin things for us.

Grow up. No one whose vote would be swayed by Britney's support is old enough to vote.

When Twitney's ruining nobody's reputation but her own, she can do what she likes.

I think religion also has some self-interest involved as well. Converting souls is essential in most religions. Prolesthylezation takes an major portion of most religions budgets.
It was not by accident that I listed religion first but I'm sure more people would oppose abortion simply by showing films of the baby that is being murdered. I don't think it hurts to appeal to someone's emotions in a situation such as this. It will trigger thought and cause people to reach a conclusion without religion.
I think many people are turned off by religious zealotry, Good people who believe their relationship with a Creator is personal. There are certain aspects of my spiritual life which sustain my faith every minute, without doubt. Those are personal to me, I'm sure you have similar experiences.
I also don't deny there are people who don't want any part of Divinity. Those who may have lost a loved one in a particularly difficult way.

Name one "hot woman" that has been a benefit to a political party. Just one. Do it. Don't chicken out.
