ST. LOUIS, Missouri (AP) -- Authorities are searching for a pack of highway stunt motorcyclists blamed for a wreck that seriously hurt five people in a sport utility vehicle.
A handful of motorcyclists were on Highway 364 Saturday when they changed lanes and cut off a Ford Explorer, forcing that vehicle to swerve to the right and hit a Chevrolet Suburban.
The Suburban tumbled down an embankment, ejecting most of its eight occupants. Five people in that vehicle were seriously injured; the other three sustained lesser harm. Only one was wearing a seat belt.
[snip]
By some accounts, a chase vehicle was filming the motorcyclists.
Witnesses said the motorcyclists were "riding wheelies, showing off, doing stunts," with another vehicle following them, Patrol Cpl. Jeff Myers said. He called the antics "total disregard for the safety of others."

"Squids cut cars off all the time. Mere words can't describe the morons who're caught up in this phenomenon."
I have seen people get the crap scared out of them because a squid blasted by them at 150 miles an hour, and then swerved out of their lane after the fact.
Also seen it from a big twin cruiser with ""loud"" exhaust pipes screaming by a vehicle, and the driver got blasted from the noise and swerved out of their lane.
Both types are idiots in my book.
Well your alright in my book now even if you do drive a rattle-machine :) J/k ride safe/be free.
Yeah, that makes a bit more sense to me. Thanks.
Apology accepted. If you make it down to South Florida, let me know and I will even let you take my bike for a spin. You might find out how much fun those plastic covered things really are.
P.S. I promise I won't tell anyone and ruin your reputation. :)
"Funny that we terrorize old people but he fails to realize how much they terrorize us."
LOL. You do have a point there.
Same here. My guess is the SUV driver was a woman and irrationally panicked. There are a lot of stupid novice drivers out there.
The Explorer, driven by a 16-year-old, swerved to the right and struck the left side of a Chevrolet Suburban, causing it to overturn and roll down an embankment, the patrol said.

So far, 8273 people (including you) have responded to this Squid Test Survey and have been tabulated. Of those responses, the average grade is 52. Your grade was 42 (from 0 to 100), and 0 out of the 115 questions were left un-answered. The average number of questions answered in this test is 47.
A higher grade indicates a stronger sense of common decency, and a lower grade is an indication of conspicuous squidliness and general disregard for civilized society. Your score indicates that you are a pathetic example of incredible stupidity who shouldn't be let out of the house unsupervised.
sounds like you ran into what is known as a "biker gang". serious a**holes, and I am glad you took appropriate care of them.
BTW I own a "squid", a cruiser and a dual purpose. [almost] all the a**holes on bikes around here are on Harleys. serious jerkoffs. I'm in Milwaukee.
ride safe.
Someone needs to give that boy a ticket for violating the laws of physics.
Wow.
Unsafe passing & cut in 'too close' to avoid a head-on would be about all that would fly for the 'cutting off'.
But the article doesn't mention anything like that.
Beer-for-brains also works.
I do know I worked too many years in ERs ICUs & orthopedic wards to rule out anyone doing anything while in, on, around, or under something with one or more wheels.
OTOH, we have huge batches of Sturgis bikers in our area every year, and only a few---a VERY few--have pulled any extremely stupid stunts. It happens every year that at least one does. The overwhelming majority don't.
Some get noticed for their really bitchin' custom bikes; a few get noticed for their lack of riding skills. Most just blend in.
One of these days, I'll unpack the boxes, find the replacement parts I need, and get my 180-Dream reassembled. She ain't fast, but sure is comfortable.
I don't know what to call them really. What I do know is that they're becoming more common, and more troublesome, and they universally have a problem with guys riding cruisers. I need to remind myself that there are a lot of good people on sport bikes, because that's what they like to ride.

Thank you very much for taking the time for this survey! While you're here, feel free to look around the rest of this web site.
I found it quite amusing. Thanks for the laugh.
a taxi played chicken with me last month on my motorcycle. i lost. the scabs heeled nicely though and the bike sustained no real damage. the cabbie never even knew i was there and just kept going.
I have been saying for years that this would happen.
They're lucky nobody was killed.
Lowrider Guy
