Former Georgia Senator Max Cleland, left, and former Green Beret Lt. Jim Rassmann, center, approach a Secret Service Agent, right, on station at the check point to the entrance of President Bush (news - web sites)'s ranch Wednesday Aug. 25, 2004 in Crawford, Texas. Cleland tried to deliver a letter protesting ads challenging John Kerry (news - web sites)'s Vietnam service to President Bush at his Texas ranch Wednesday, but the Secret Service stopped Cleland short of his goal. I would have had Bob Dole waiting to accept the letter.
Cleland has been used by the demonrats. They have no shame.
Kerry is even a Bigger Coward that I thought, sending out cripples to do what he should be doing himself. No disrespect to Max Cleland, but shame on you for allowing yourself to be used like a side show freak for this man.
So what paper is the SS guy holding.
Couldn't, his hand was full.
)))))))))))))DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM(((((((((((((??????????
Yep. He's almost 'Bob', ain't he.
It's disgusting to watch the way he participates in his own commoditization.
Great point !! His left arm sleeve is down. Just screams "HEY LOOK AT ME"
Yes it is but politically speaking it would have been a good move. Kerry wanted Cleland turned away, the letter was just the prop to send Cleland there. If Bush invited him and Rassman in for coffee and to discuss the issue at hand, Kerry would have looked even more like a*s
Max has suffered so much already. Only Kerry would ask him to step into the fray to shield his own sorry butt.
I'm surprised they didn't get McCain to deliver the letter. He gets used by the demonrats all the time... he doesn't realize it either.
You make it sound like he has an I.Q. of 12. He's not being used. He's a whore.
The content of the letter is:
Report Card
Student Name: Cleland, Max
Course Name: Hand Grenade Throwing
Grade: F
Comments: When the pin is pulled Mr. Grenade is not our friend.
Nobodyasked him to come to the Ranch. I don't know about you,but I do not go where I'm not invited.
Max, I am sorry you did something stupid in Nam and blew yourself up, but here at my house it is common courtesy to call first and ask if it is convenient before you visit, whether you are a Vietnam veteran or not. You obviously weren't just passing by the neighborhood, were you? So enjoy your little photo opportunity in the hot Texas sun and go away.
BUMP to that sentiment.
Did they have an appointment to meet with President Bush? Who do they think they are that they can just "drop in" and expect to chat with the President? He has more important matters to tend to. The security detail should have told them to wait there (in the Texas sun) for a couple of days until the President could find time for them. The two of them would enjoy the fire ants while they wait.
bump
