I had the great pleasure to be at the Hugh Hewitt live broadcast and book signing today in Santa Ana, CA at the Bowers Museum. Hugh let me sit at the mic at the beginning of the show along with a great American, Lt.Col Larry Collins (Ret). We engaged in some fun dialog and great Kerry bashing.
Hugh gave many kudos to FreeRepublic before and after the show, and he said that he probably checked it on his computer a hundred times during the show. This is not a Christmas in Cambodia story. He probably did check it a hundred times. I can verify that Hugh had no secret CIA magic hat in his briefcase.
Dr. Susan Forward, whose lastest best seller, WHEN YOUR LOVER IS A LIAR, was one of the guests on the show. She is a renowned psychotherapist, best selling author, and radio personality. DR. SUSAN FORWARD WEBSITE
Hugh asked about the mind of John Kerry. Dr. Forward, of course, gave a caveat that she does not know him and could obviously not make a clinical diagnosis. After 30 some years of practice, however, she could make some observations.
And make them she did. WHAM! John Kerry is either delusional or a sociopath. She comes to that conclusion as she has observed his narcissism, grandiosity, attention seeking, and telling lies without remorse or conscience.
Kerry is frantically flailing around on the defensive. He is a man who believes he is smarter than we are. He is a conman. He seems to be without conscience or guilt.
The narcissism was clearly on display when he had a movie camera in Vietnam to re-create his heroics. What kind of person does that?
Hugh had a tremendous show and a great Q & A session afterwards. One of the highlights was a caller from Altanta named Chatika. By her voice (yes, you can tell and you can say it without being a racist) it was obvious that she was black. She was a big Kerry supporter. When Hugh confronted her, she tried to attack the President. Hugh kept toying with her as Perry Mason would have done with a reluctant witness. As a cat would have done with a mouse. As a FReeper would do with a seminar caller to a talkshow. She went from a position of being absolutely in favor of Kerry to saying she would vote for Nader at the end of the conversation. Well done, Hugh.
I glanced through several pages of Hugh's new book -- IF IT'S NOT CLOSE, THEY CAN'T CHEAT. It looks like an outstanding book. Would any of you be surprised that I used the opportunity to give him a few copies of A CHILD'S EYE VIEW OF JOHN KERRY by Dougie?
The only downside of being there today is that I could not be listening to two talk shows at the same time. I wonder how Dr. Forward would diagnose me? Maybe I don't want to know. :)

I don't think any regular FReepers were there, but several people said that had been on FreeRepublic. Hugh really played it up, so expect some newbies to join us. Be nice to them, unless they say something really stupid. Just kidding. Be nice.
Yeah I heard that caller...she (to paraphrase the Reverend Jackson) "knows about Kool-Aid and peanut butter sandwiches"... or is it just Kool-Aid! AHHH !

Shoot! I missed the HH show today- one of my favorites! I am always interested to see DFU updates as my son is at CMC in Claremont- very close. (He is a good conservative!)

Best wishes to your son. I almost went to Clarement Men's College years ago but was on an alternate scholarship list and couldn't afford the tutition.
In years and years of listening to and calling talk radio, I have heard people say such things as, "You don't look like you sound." No one does.
But I have never ever heard anyone say that someone sounded like they were bald. That is just too bizarre. Go to Dr. Forward's website and make an appointment.

I received your book today and one of my neighbors wants to let her third grade child take it to school when it starts, for show and tell.

I have wondered if Kerry has what is called Munchausen syndrome.
Why?
Exaggerated tales about his exploits, like Baron Munchausen.
Malingering, the Purple Hearts for scratches. Malingering is a key component of the syndrome.
