Japanese TV (JNN-TBS) has now prominently carried in news prime time in Japan a short story on the American SWIFT BOAT VETERAN TV ADS, President Bush's comments on them, and the fact that the TV ads are highlighting questions about American Presidential Candidate John Kerry's heretofore unblemished Vietnam War background, etc..
The do borrow the terminology of American slanted liberal media, calling them "attack ads" ("chusho CM" or transliterated: "injury commercials"). But they do seem to get the story out to the Japanese viewers about Kerry's shaky ground of recent.
YOU CAN SEE THIS VIDEO CLIP (probably for another day or so).

There are plenty of Navy men in Japan, as well.
Yes. I doubt many of them watch Japanese TV news, though. One can hope this gets through to AFN and Stars/Stripes, though...
FYI, thousands more non-military US, though (in Japan).
Actually, something like 80,000 at last count. Bankers, doctors, lawyers, students, translators, entertainers, models, singers, missionaries, technicians, researchers, sportsmen, retirees. You name it. Most of those are eligible voters, too.
Oooo. Good news. Hows the book selling there?
My concern about this going international with the polls so close is that even with a strong decisive president in the WH, the people have tipped their hands as not supporting him. That could have very negative international ramifications and give our enemies hope of wearing us down, thus spawning any number of tragic events. It really endangers us all.
It would sell like hotcakes.
I have recently offered to translate it to the SwiftBoat people. I know they are very very very busy; they have not responded yet.
BTW, in Japan, you can get it on amazon.co.jp (Amazon in Japanese), though. They sell for 2,500 yen...same book as the English. I am sure it is all sold out in Japan in stores, though (the English versions, what few of them are in Japan for foreigners there).
Same viewpoint as on in Australia on the lefty ABC Australian network's "Lateline" tonight.
"The issue of Kerry's Vietnam record is dominating the Presdential campaign...
... unanswered questions about Kerry's record remain, Sasha Miller, Washington"
Is false bravado and lying about one's accomplishments as frowned upon as it was in WWII?
Yes. If the message can make it through the worldwide media leftist spin somehow intact, it will get to the Japanese people and make Kerry (whom they really still don't know) a negative person for them. They have been told to not like Bush...that has already pretty much taken hold.
Yes.
It is good to see the Japanese have not forgotten the concept of honor, even if the 'Rats abandoned it long ago.
Bunchs of Marines at Camp Fuji, airdale jarheads in Iwakuni, lots of Gyrines iin Okinawa too!
Tokyo Rose....calling Tokyo Rose!
SwiftBoat Vets flying under the MSM radar ... !!
I hope SBVfT can get to your offer and work the translation deal out.
