Fox will cover the speech live...one key question..will Kerry take questions from the press. Will he be asked to release his contemporaneous diaries? Will he be asked to release his complete military records? Will he attempt to mitigate his hideous testimony to the Senate accusing Americans of War crimes?..Will he say he was wrong about being in Cambodia?

What about bruises and contusions - caused by being blow into something by your own grenade?

The operative words would be "in the heat of battle". "Hey, guys, watch me blow up this rice bin with a grenade!" with no combat around would not count.

The other issue is severity of the wound. Nobody can go on a camping trip with their kid's Boy Scout troop without getting some sort of scrape, bruise or cut. The Purple Hearts wound "requires the attention of a medical officer". In other words, the wound must be severe enough to require treatment by a doctor. Going to Fleet Sick Call to have a Band-Aid put on by a Corpsman would not qualify.
