SPRINGFIELD, VA (AP) - Nguyen Ngoc Loan, whose execution of a Viet Cong prisoner on the streets of Saigon in 1968 became one of the most chilling images of the Vietnam War, died Tuesday. -snip- On Feb. 1, 1968, Loan was director of South Vietnam's national police and the North Vietnamese had just begun the Tet Offensive, their huge military push southward. Firefights had broken out all over Saigon, and Loan's police were trying to rid the South Vietnamese capital of Viet Cong guerrillas. Loan led the prisoner, his hands bound, onto a street corner and in front of a group of journalists pulled his pistol and shot the prisoner point-blank in the head. The general told the newsmen that the prisoner was a known Viet Cong captain.

Justifiable Homicide:

Coldblooded Murder:
Kerry sobbing. Will attend funeral of one of the best Generals' he's ever know and worked under.
Actually, Nguyen Ngoc Loan is not a bad guy....
Nguyen Ngoc Loan was simply EXECUTING an enemy war criminal in a nation in total war.
A very sane thing to do when you are being beseiged by spies and an enemy who is dressed as your neighbor.
Typical of the kerry/fonda mentality of a "kinder and gentler" war.
I understand that Saigon was under martial law...and the VC that was justifiably executed had just killed one his men's family...
Probably had also engaged in other attacks by VC hit squats that also killed other Saigon policemen's wives childrens and parents...
The General was painted by a leftist media with that broad brush...they love so well...to villianize anyone who defies them..
Never once when the lefties trudge out this story...pay they any attention what the VC had done to merit this summary punishment or what the Generals responsiblities were...
Never do they ever get around to telling the stories of our enemies 'war crimes' against our people or against those of South Vietnam who didnt want to live under a communist dictatorship
And willingly resisted..
imo
If you don't wear a uniform, you have no rights under the Geneva Convention. My thanks to the General for making a live terrorist into a good one. May his nation one day be free.
WE share a bathroom and you never call me "Pard!"
1998?
As well as the blood of over two million Cambodians.
your right. my mistake, my mistake.
A moment of silence is in order.
sent the post to the wrong person. your right, my mistake.
The general and his family were neighbors of ours when I lived in VA. They owned a little deli in the local strip mall. He was a gentle and kind man who endured insufferable distinctions from the local media and knee jerk liberals in our area. He and his family quietly went about their lives and continued to provide some of the most delicious steak sandwiches I have ever had. God speed!
Agree with you. Sent a response without looking at the photo. I do recall both pictures you cite. The media is doing to us what they did than. Presenting a picture of this wonderful war hero when the reality is Kerry will sell our nation to the lowest bidder to elevate his statue. Kerry is a coward.
Im glad the SBVT are speaking out. I hope many more will join them.
How many times will this clip air this week?
I cited this as one of many examples of murder that have been televised (people said it was illegal to air the decapitation videos by the Islamonazi brutes).
It even is shown to its graphic conclusion in the G-rated Monkees movie Head.
