I bet Kerry has more medals than some of the prisoners of war. Galanti's military decorations include the Silver Star, Two Legions of Merit for combat, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Bronze Star for combat, nine Air Medals, the Navy Commendation Medal for combat and two Purple Hearts.
Viet Nam POW's
There is a nice bio at the link.

The fact that this guy isn't getting heckled the Hell out of every time he leaves the house is a mystery to me. Kerry is a traitor, why in the Hell did one of the two major parties nominate him?

Kerry is a traitor, why in the Hell did one of the two major parties nominate him?Because they thought they could silence dissent. Who would dare speak out against a decorated war hero in a time of war?
That's why they're in a meltdown. They didn't expect American Vets to speak out against a "brother." They're scrambling to pull out of this mess Kerry's created.

"What was K's status when he testified before Congress, went to Paris, etc?"Yet another excellent, relevant question that Unfit for Command raises and answers. Kerry was inactive in the Navy Reserve until July '72, when he was moved to the Standby Reserve; it was only at that point that he could call himself a civilian. In other words, when he committed perjury before Congress, gave aid and comfort to the enemy, and met with a hostile foreign power to negotiate a separate peace, he was still subject to the UCMJ. Kerry is, in the narrow legal definition of the word, a traitor.

And not only ours but those peoples who died because war dissenters kept us from winning a righteous war. Because we left, millions lost there lives and many millions more were displaced and none of them live in freedom to this very day.
This is what I'm afraid we'd have in store for Iraq if SKerry won. He will turn tail and run and then our soldier's lives could be said to have been given in vain. We need to win this one and we need to win the peace thouroughly.

just sent to O'Reilly:
If John Kerry looks to George Bush for protection, shouldn't we follow his lead?
How can we have as Commander in Chief of our forces a man whose words were used to torture our forces?
If this is true, one American voting for Kerry will be one too many.

Wow! A real American hero!
But what if Kerry had stayed in Vietnam for a full tour? At the rate he was going he could have put himself in for 100's of medals. /sarcasm off

You have said it very well. And GW had to stand against the wind to liberate the people he has freed.

As I understand it, the Rats in the US Congress had a hand in the slaughter as well. I'm referring to those in power during Nixon's term.

They voted to stop funding, which
forced Gerald Ford to cut & run.
I was ashamed of my country. That
they even cut off funds to help
our S. Vietnamese allies. Awful!!
