"...Majority Approves of President
"Now that we all know Kerry is more warlike than the president -- after all, he would have removed Saddam without any evidence of WMDs -- Bush's job approval in the latest Gallup poll is now at 51 percent, almost identical to Clinton's 52 percent rating in August 1996 and President Reagan's 54 percent mark in August 1984. Last week, USA Today reported that "no president who has been at or above 50 percent at this point in an election year has lost."

President Bush's approval rating will go UP in the face of the Kerry Campaign implosion. Stay tuned.

What is Bush's disapproval rating? If it's over 45% that's troubling.

I just saw a 'former Clinto advisor' on FOX news. At first I thought it was a Bush supporter till I read the under caption. He was bashing the Kerry campaign pretty bad saying that they are in a huge pickle (my words). I think his words were something like 'they have boxed themselves into a precarious situation'. Hillary is launching her first salvo of torpedoes. And so the implosion begins.

The only way this could have shaped up better would be if the Swiftee's stuff broke on October 27th or so...

The most important poll to remember is not a poll at all, but rather that econometric study that predicted a Bush win at 57%, ±2.5%.

I agree Marty. A 40+ state landslide. The Katie Courics and Peter Jennings of the world will wake up the next morning dumbfounded as noone they know voted for Bush.

I've already heard a few analysts say that the Kerry campaign is feeling lucky that it wasn't in October. Which makes me think these Swifties have more and better stuff to come. They are too smart to release their best stuff this early.

Oh my god, how can this be happening? For the past 16 months all we have heard is that Bush is a "Buffoon", "Idiot", "Clown", "Cowboy".
I guess the "idiot cowboy" has a way about himself that the intellectual elitists can never understand. And that is, he is a real man.

Which makes me think these Swifties have more and better stuff to come They do. It's been mentioned here. There's a 28-minute documentary coming out, and since it's a documentary, it won't be under the 60 day restrictions.

Kerry underestimated the backlash of his posturing post-Vietnam. If you have followed his career, and I have, he's done very little in the Senate and has not sponsored one bill in his twelve year tenure. He brought nothing to the table in terms of legislation that he can point to as actually helping the country on one side or the other.
What you have is a guy who literally got men tortured in Vietnam and yet has used his four months of questionable service there as his framework for proving to the country that he's going to be strong on terror.
You know the Bush campaign is going well when seminar callers to the national and local conservative talk shows are more vile than ever. It's so obvious because they usually start and end with an insult about the opponent's level of intellect. Old lib ploy; "We are smart and you are a hick."
