Let's begin with an aside. Sure, Katie Couric makes our blood boil with her liberal bias. And yes, we enjoy the occasional debate as to whether she's added a wrinkle or a pound. But at the end of the day, I'd say that, politics aside, she is a fairly normal human being.
Then there's Renee Syler. She is one of the myriad co-hosts of The Early Show on CBS. I've only recently begun viewing the show, on the prowl for hard-news liberal bias as The Today Show devotes most of its time to plumping the Olympics.
Syler, IMHO, gives off the vibes of a troubled person. From her spiky hairdo, nervous mannerisms, tired and anxious mien, there's a sense that something is not right with this woman.
OK, end of preface. In sum, her interview with Craig Crawford, head of the National Journal's Hot Line, focused almost exclusively on the ties between Swiftee Ken Cordier and the Bush campaign, to the near-total exclusion of any discussion of the truthfulness of the Swiftees allegations.
She asked Crawford whether the fact that Cordier was an advisor on veteran's affairs to the Bush campaign conclusively proved that there was illegal coordination betweeen the SBVT and W's campaign. Crawford opined that you couldn't have much more coordination than that.
Syler then portrayed the entire Swiftees situation as creating a problem for . . . President Bush. "Is this [the allegations of ties between the Swiftees and the campaign] the kind of story the Bush campaign wants going into the convention?"
Of course Crawford agreed that it wasn't, and he suggested that President Bush should hold an extensive press conference to condemn the ads and express his opinion on the truth thereof. He also suggested Kerry should meet with the press and answer "some" of the questions regarding his Vietnam record.
Since this thread started with an aside, let's end with one. What the heck has happened to Craig Crawford? Once upon a time wasn't he a reasonably conservative columnist in Orlando? Now his main role seems to be as a useful idiot for the liberal press. He's also adopted an annoyingly goofy persona. Listen and watch him next time, and tell me if you don't hear and see a younger Pat Robertson, right down to the goofy, inappropriate grin.
Early Show ping to the Today Show ping list.
Let's take a poll...
1. MSM will cover the truthfulness of the SBV?
2. MSM will ignor the truthfulness of the SBV?
The MSM will focus exclusively on the bogus, made up ties between Bush and the SVB and NOTHING will force the MSM to cover the charges of the SBV!
The would-be conservatives like Craig are now part of the Dem cocktail circuit. Wonder what kind of party favors he got?
I was in the cafeteria getting breakfast this morning and I turned to look at the soundless TV and saw that scare-do that woman was sporting. I was very frightened to see that a news anchor would go on national TV looking like that. Her hair had a hypnotic, Medusa-like quality.
Here's his very interesting bio:

Crawford is on Imus sometimes, and he makes my blood boil. He is a 24 carat gold a-hole.
And the media continues to ignore the fact that the same attorney represents both the DNC and the 527 MoveOn.org.
Fox and Friends just had a sKerry person on, talking about Bush/Cheney ties to Swifties. Said all of sKerry's medical records are on his site. Talked about Cordier. E.D. said B/C people were invited to come on the show but declined. Why?
This is smart. Bush doesn't want to be drawn into the fray, even though he's being baited left and right. This should remain the feud that it is -- between the SBV's and Kerry.
You're so right. The president's people are smart. This is a battle between a presidential candidate and the people who feel he ran roughshod over them in the interest of furthering his political career, and that's where it should stay.
Oh, yes that Cordier was a "volunteer" who has already left the Bush campaign sure is a lot more serious than the fact that the Kerry campaign continues to employ former moveon.org staff members. And continues to stonewall about doing so.

I fail to see anything real about her.
Are you talking about Katie Dumb As Dirt?
I see very little about Harold Ickes and Bill Richardson, both active with either ACT or moveon while being on the board of the DNC.
Craig Crawford has never been a conservative and every time I see him on TV he seems to reading straight from DNC talking points. That's the MSM idea of an objective journalists.
Cordier is not a Swiftie! He wasn't even in the Navy. He was an AF Col. and a pilot, and a POW.
He has always been an outspoken critic of Kerry and the anti-war nuts and was apparently recruited by the Swifties to appear in the ad within the last couple of weeks.
When the Swifties were in DC a couple of weeks ago the media was reporting that they were there to make the latest ad.
Oh, and by the way, Craig Crawford has never, ever been a conservative. Ever.
Wow. That looks more like a computer-generated drawing from an animated movie than an actual photo of a human being.
Yes. As readers of my Today Show threads know, I'm the opposite of a Katie fan. But I don't think she is a borderline personality on the verge of a breakdown. Syler strikes me that way.
