Any Houstonians in the Southeast part of town step outside tonight? It smells NASTY. I know, I know, smelling up the news sounds funny, but you would have to smell it. I've lived in houston 30 of my 35 years, and about ten of those down here in the Clear Lake/Pasadena area, and I know what stenches can issue from the chem plants.
I've never smelled THIS - it's almost like someone detonated a city-sized rotten mango down here! Really, it has me concerned. It literally took my breath away.
Does anyone know what it might be?
Glad to hear you are doing alright this morning Frank D. If you find out what it was please let us know.
Thanks!
LOL! I lived near Ellington Field when I was down there. The air generally smelled OK (for Houston, at any rate) when it was hot and disgusting, and stunk like hell when the temperature and humidty were down. It's been close to 10 years since I left, and I can still remember the smell....
Nice to know some things never change, eh?
I chose the name because ptarmigan is my favorite animal.
Cool. OK, I promise not to hunt any of them.
You can go hunt rabbits for me. I hate rabbits with a passion.
You're only a few dozen miles from Texas City. Maybe the wind is "just right."
Also, highly likely it might have been sour naphtha...
