[Excerpt from full transcript. Russert is speaking with Tad Devine, Senior Adviser, Kerry-Edwards '04. -- ajf]

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5772535/

MR. RUSSERT: He didn't take office until January '69. Does Senator Kerry stand by that statement that on Christmas Eve of '68 he was physically in Cambodia?

MR. DEVINE: Right. Well, his memory, Tim, is being there, around there. And I'll tell you what happened on December 25th...

MR. RUSSERT: No--being there or around there?

MR. DEVINE: No, being right at the Cambodian border, over the Cambodian border. That's what he remembers. That's his clear memory. Now, Tim...

[end excerpt]

So according to Devine, Kerry remembers being "over the Cambodian border" on Christmas Eve of '68. It is Kerry's "clear memory" according to Devine.

...and I believe the sharp people in the Swifties recognized Kerry for what he is, and played him like a fiddle, thus goading him into a PR campaign for them that they could not have afforded themselves at the time.

Now the money is rolling in and they will go for the throat. This latest ad is a good indication of that.

Hear what Swift Boat vet Steve Gardner says about it in this 40 minute interview on streaming audio. He was present during the "Rassman rescue" incident and the 'rice-in-the-butt' incident.

And by the way, that's three times more than the president and the vice president have ever been fired on in the course of their life. The president and the vice president, who sent our troops to Iraq without the body armor they need to live.

Body armor that Kerry and Edwards voted against paying for. And not just the supplemental appropriation either, but consistently over the years, they did everything they could to starve the military budget.

Oh man, that ad is STONE COLD.
And there is absolutely nothing sKerry's camp can say against it. Even their beloved McCain made those very comments about the anti-war movement IIRC.

It appears sKerry's media munchkins have adopted Goebells philosphy of "tell a lie often enough and people will begin to believe it". What they forgot to read is the next paragraph in that course book of "Lying 101". YOU GOT TO TELL THE SAME LIE, NOT DIFFERENT VERSIONS!!

That is funny. True....but funny.

The Kerry mouthpieces are telling so many different versions that even the media, which are trying so hard to be complicit, are spreading one version only to be hit with the new revised latest updated version, which makes that previous version the media was spreading, a lie.

Chris Wallace got caught in that trap on FoxNews Sunday. He kept referencing a 1969 document. Both Brit and Bill Kristol tried several times to correct Wallace, who wouldn't let them. Finally, vehemently, Brit told Wallace that Kerry himself is now contradicting the 1969 document. Wallace went silent.

[This is fun to watch.]

Are you sure you meant to direct that reply to me? I didn't say anything about President Bush's or Vice-President Cheney's military service.

I was in 'Nam - much later. Sounds like sKerry was probably DEEP into "con si"*. If you were there, you'd know what that is. Magical thinking is only one of the side effects.

Maybe. Maybe not. O'Neill probably knows that Kerry can't resist combatting him again. I'm sure Kerry replays that old debate in his mind all the time.

It is a very good thing that O'Neill has gone to the front of this. He has instantly made Kerry look like a 27-year-old naïf again.

O'Neill in one interview said the SBV got over $300k on Friday alone.

Hurley said on FNS this morning that Kerry was in Cambodia in feb/Mar 1969 and his crewmates of PCF94 are going to come forward to validate this but that it's Kerry's word and they have no documentation to prove this.
I haven't been following the EXACT details but I guess Gardner was with him on PCF44 and so Kerry is now going to change the boat so gardner won't be a witness anymore.

I was commenting on the Kerry Kamp komplaining about the lack of body armor, when Kerry and Edwards never met a military appropriation or authorization they liked.

Gotcha. I thought maybe you thought I spewed that bilge about President Bush not supplying our troops with the necessary equipment.

He was there in Nam...in harm's way...and for that I give him credit.

But remember, he got there by accident. He asked for swiftboat duty because at the time, it was an offshore assignment and a rather cushy, safe command. Kerry didn't know that two weeks after he showed up, the swiftboats would be assigned to the very dangerous river duty. Oops.

THIS is a story I'd like to see get more press. It clearly shows Kerry's (dis)qualifications as a commander, to put his crew in harm's way in order to find Bob Hope's Christmas show.

The Dims don't get it. America already knows what kind of Commander-in-Chief Dubya would be based upon his first term in office. It doesn't matter what he did 35 years ago, or whether he has ever been fired upon.

To me, it seems pathetic that Kerry's best qualification for Commander-in-Chief is not his experience in the Senate, but his experience 35 years ago as commander of six sailors for a period four months. Especially since the WashPost graphic in Sunday's paper clearly shows he fled under fire, a court-martial offense.
