I've herad that Bob Dole has a very dim view of Kerry. I'm glad Dole is speaking up. Bob Dole gave up his senior senate seat when he ran against Clinton in 1996. Felt it was a conflict and not fair to the constituents that voted for him in Kansas. Kerry, for the past two years has been a no show in the U.S. senate, drawing full salary and keeping his senate seat in case things don't work out for him in November. Dole is an honorable man in every sense of the word ... Kerry on the other hand is a democ'Rat (and that says it all) ...

Yeah, that 20 year record that's been non-existent from his campaign, and for good reason. There isn't one!
There is a record. It just isn't a high performance for good attendance and tending to the business he was elected to do.
In the real world, he would have been fired for absenteeism.

So?
She's wrong. What else is new.

"BTW, before one break Wolf was so rattled by Bob's strong showing he said Kerry had earned the "Silver Cross". "
- My guess is that Wolfe invited Dole on because he thought he might do a McCain, ie : "We are all brothers in arms, who are we to question his heroism, yada, yada". Once Dole showed up with a hard on looking for Kerry, he took Wolfie and the rest of the MSM off guard. The net result will be that while it was satisfying to see Dole dish it out, you can be sure that this is the last television show he will be asked to appear on and there will be a blackout of his remarks in the press. Dole is now persona non grata and goes on the media's blacklist.
Dole Blasts Kerry on Purple Hearts, Urges Apology for War Protests
"I respect his record - but three Purple Hearts, he never bled that I know of," Dole told CNN's "Late Edition." "They were all superficial wounds."
"Maybe he should apologize to all the other two-and-a-half million veterans who served. He wasn't the only one who was in Vietnam."
"I think Sen. Kerry needs to talk about his Senate record, which is pretty thin." Dole added.

Dole was fantastic in Florida in 2000 and he was fantastic today. Yeah Bob Dole is bit more moderate in many things than many of us here but he is a loyal patriot who has given much to this country and he has more to give. Go Bob Go. "a bit more moderate"???? When he finally got off our backs and left the Senate, Dole said his proudest achievements were Food Stamps and the ADA. He's cost theoretically-free Americans hundreds of billions of dollars and many lost liberties. I'm so glad he's no longer in a position of power where he could continue to diminish liberty.
That being said, it's nice to see him doing something useful on CNN this morning, for a change.

No-THANK YOU for finding that quote on page 41 of "Unfit for Command" and posting it for us to read! It is devasting. So revealing!!!
And as for your tagline....is that true? Did Kerry actually state that George Washington was a 'communist tyrant'?

""Blitzer: Well, that's another story but Harkin says Cheney was a coward" "
- I may have misread it at the time but I thought Cheney got a draft deferment not just because he was enrolled in college but also because he was married and had a young child. Perhaps someone out there knows whether I am correct or not.
To: HuntsvilleTxVeteran
oops-upon re-reading your tagline-I see that kerry said George Washington was NOTHING like a communist tyrant.
HUH?
What is this about?

I would like to know what makes Chris Matthews authorized to say whether Bob Dole can talk about Kerry's service or not. Chris Matthews is an obnoxious creep. No wonder MSNBC is failing.

Donna Brazile said they have been around for years. The Rat accusation is that the some of the public relations folks that ran some stuff against McCain in the 2000 primary vs. Bush also helped the Swiftees.
The "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" is a new group, not to be confused with the Swift Boat reunions or other groups at other times.
Brazile is spinning. The "Same People" aren't the swiftees, they're the PR consultants, who by definition are going to work for someone, somewhere, every election.
By that definition, MoveOn is the same as the Million Mom March, is the same as the Democratic party.

If you go straight to Kerry's VVAW comments, you can hang him with his own words! That comes next. And I hope Kerry's visits with the N. Vietnamese twice, possibly while still a Naval officer the first time, come out as well.
