Scott O'Grady went sleepless six nights as he evaded capture behind enemy lines in Bosnia after his jet fighter was shot down in 1995.
Now he says what keeps him awake at night is the thought of John Kerry in the White House.
''This is a man that would be harmful to our national security,'' O'Grady told a group of about 100 veterans and other supporters of President Bush at a breakfast rally in Fogelsville on Friday.
The retired Air Force captain garnered headlines nine years ago for his ordeal in the former Yugoslavia.
Now he is touring the country, drumming up support for the president.

O'Grady said everyone in the room should read the text of Kerry's testimony, which he said was available online.
''I did that and I believe that he is not a man fit to be commander in chief,'' O'Grady said.
Check the library.
Did some hometown newspaper scoop the New York Times?
Or did I miss the Times's story on this development?

Thank you Captain O'Grady, for your service then and now.
I had the opportunity to meet Scott O'Grady at a dinner not long after he left the service. He was a very impressive young man then, and it looks like he hasn't changed much.
I guess Kerry and the lib media will now have to smear O'Grady and prove he is somehow connected to the Bush campaign.
GOOD!!
I strongly recommed to O'Grady, a few simple things:
Do not take the same route to your work/school/home;
Install a digital answering machine on your home phone, for which you should immediately change numbers;
Leave a taped deposition, with a date/time stamp, with your attorney, to be released to LEO's in the event of your demise, particularly if the evidence points to suicide;
Hire some protection - make certain it is not off-duty police;
More as I recall them - anyone else have a few protective measures?
Yeah. Stay out of planes.
His best protective measure would be to stay away from Chris Matthews and James Carvile.
My wife has requested it from our university library system. Several of the campuses have a copy and she requested inter-library loan from a library that showed it on the shelf. Cool system - ordering library books online - wasn't that way when I was last in school. (She has an alum account.) We'll see the book in perhaps a week. Might copy parts of it - fair use you know - since it is out of print.
Is this the same fellow who saw the Virgin Mary while he was eluding capture?
Yes. An anchorwoman at the TV station where I worked did an in-depth interview with Scott O'Grady and that issue was brought up. His faith saw him through his days of awaiting rescue.
"We will not quickly join those who march on Veterans' Day waving small flags, calling to memory those
thousands who died for the "greater glory of the United States." We will not accept the rhetoric. We will
not readily join the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars-in fact, we will find it hard to join
anything at all and when we do, we will demand relevancy such as other organizations have recently been
unable to provide. We will not take solace from the creation of monuments or the naming of parks after a
select few of the thousands of dead Americans and Vietnamese. We will not uphold traditions which
decorously memorialize that which was base and grim."
--John F'ing Kerry
WHO is Chris Mathews???? Is he the local greeter at my Wal-Mart????
Does this mean Kerry will demand that Bush denounce O'Grady?
