"Why does he hide behind McCain?"
My guess is they believe McCain is universally admired (which he is not), he's a Republican, sort of, so they can appear bi-partisan and use him (McCain, next time think before you open your mouth), and, in the end, he doesn't have anything else. BTW, as I understand it, the accusations against McCain were that he wasn't great on the environment and maybe didn't support breast cancer research, not that he did not do his part in Nam.

What's the point? I mean, if Kerry has facts to back up his wild-eyed accusations, let's hear them. If not, then let's, ahem, move on.
This is a diversion tactic, nothing more.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. John Kerry's campaign released a video Saturday comparing the controversy over Kerry's Vietnam service to attacks on John McCain during the 2000 Republican primaries. That's some inside the beltway thinking!

Notice the video attacks President Bush but not the Swift Boat Vets for Truth. If he attacks them he has to say what is not true. He can not do this because he not they is the liar. They can prove it and will.

Kerry used video footage from the Republican 2000 primary debate. I doubt he asked McCain for permission.

Joe Conrad -- the immigrant novelist -- he had Kerry down. Kerry's, himself, the doer of atrocities. He said so -- and his every act since says it. The "secret sharers" Joe Conrad wrote about -- that's his "band of brothers".
That sampan -- the grenade to blow up the rice -- what the heck was that? The man was foolish then to the point of injuring people -- burning huts in non-combatant vilages, scaring old men, and children, slaughtering livestock -- all that IS what John Kerry did. The other swifties didn't -- Kerry, his boat. He's the one.
The toughest conspiracies -- the real one's and the one's of great literaure (which approaches reality) -- are those of sharers of vile sins and violent acts. The band of brothers.
All just my opinion!

The ad is devestating to John McCain. How in the world this is supposed to help Kerry is far far tooo nuanced for most.
And one wonders if McCain supports using his name and image for a Kerry ad.

Correct. Plus this is only an internet video.
The riposte would be for McCain to do an ad talking about the effect John F'ing's testimony to Fulbright had on him as a POW.

Kerry and the DNC are desperate. In total panic mode. Grasping at straws to find any way to beat the Swiftvets. They know if the swifties aren't stopped kerry is finished.

I am surprised that McCain allowed himself to be used like this...McCain will be Secretary of Defence if Kerry wins, ala Sen. Cohen during the Clinton years, I predict.
But if Bush wins, he still wants to be in the majority and leave the possibility of suceeding W as the 2008 Republican candidate.
To: Navydog
Kerry is going about this the wrong way. He campaigns with the promise to get those who hate the USA to come around and be friendly. Well, here's his opportunity to show his diplomatic side, to get the SwiftVets to come around and be more friendly to him.
It's a golden opportunity, John. Whatever you do, don't just whine and stamp your feet, and demand they shut up.

It truly is "Come to Jesus Time" for John McCain. What will be his public response to this ad?

John McCain BETTER VOcally COMDEMN this ad by JKerry with McCain in it. THIS IS WAR!!!!! Don't count on it. McCain is the reason Kerry was able to hang the ads around Bush's neck. If McCain hadn't called on Bush to condemn the SBV ad Kerry wouldn't be able to connect them to Bush.
McCain won't condemn his own words for Bush's sake, believe me.

Everybody stay cool, the Good Guys haven't even had their convention yet, and unlike the Ozone Layer DemocRAT convention, Bush will get a bounce that LierBoy won't be able to diminish.
Let's see.....who should I vote for......a lier....or....a guy that has freed 5 million people.......let me think....hummmmmmm
