TRENTON, N.J. Comedian and New Jersey native Joe Piscopo (search) says he's being urged to make a run for the Statehouse in the wake of Gov. James E. McGreevey's (search) resignation and acknowledgment of a sex scandal.
The actor and one-time "Saturday Night Live" star, who describes himself as a lifelong Democrat with working-class roots, said in a televised interview on Friday that "young, very concerned New Jersey citizens" suggested the idea to him.

He just wants to raise his profile. The guy hasn't had an ounce of publicity since leaving SNL.
On the other hand, he couldn't be any worse than McGreevey.

I thought he was dead. SNL sure has its share of deceased stars. How's he doing in the pool er polls?
To: nickcarraway
He`s a life long Democrat. Gee, just what New Jersey needs. And the sad part is they`ll probably vote for him on that fact alone.

lifelong Democrat According to Webster, a lifelong Democrat is 1] one who has always voted as a democrat, regardless of the candidate's agenda, and always will vote for the democrat, even if in future years, that democrat candidate may have, e.g., lied about his service records in Vietnam, or was a known sex offender, raper, murderer, etc. 2] a totally ignorant person who votes for party affiliation, not for the best candidate.

At least Piscopo probably knows what goes where.
