The vast majority of users of this site would pull the "R" lever no matter who was running for President on the Republican ticket. Right?

Let me put it this way: Since I have been eligible to vote, which goes back to the 1972 election, I have found making my voting choices easy. That's because the democrat party was partially highjacked in 1968, with the final blow in 1972. The highjacking was from the likes of left wingers. Gary Hart (of McGovern's campaign), Tom Hayden, Jane Fonda, 'Flyin-but-lyin' Tom Harkin, Frank Church, and an assortment of other worthless-shreds.

These are just a few of the people that took control away from Scoop Jackson, Hubert Humphrey, among others.

Today's DEM party is 100%-USDA-RED. And that's why people like Zell Miller have chosen to get off as it continues lurching further to the left.

If there were a dem that stood up for my principles I would not hesitate to pull the lever. Particularly if the 'R' were someone like Arlen Spectre.

Many of the users of this site would not be voting for the current republican candidate this year if there were not a war on.

No, that would imply that the members of FR are incapable of independent and analytical thought, similar to those who post at DU. FReepers vote Republican (most of the time) because the Republican candidate, for the most part, is the one who can be expected to uphold the rights we value, (such as the 1st and 2nd Amendment rights, which Democrats are wont to diminish), to speak the truth, to defend our country well, and to comport themselves in an honorable fashion.

There are notably few exceptions, Zell Miller being one of them.

Think before you speak, it will serve you well in life.

The vast majority - undoubtedly, but not all. I haven’t voted Republican (or democrat) for a very long time. I think Nixon was the last one. I have been voting 3rd party ever since.
This year I will be voting for President Bush. Not because I consider him a water walker. Not because I think he’s doing such a great job. He gets my vote because the alternative is too terrible to imagine.

Wrong.
One mentioned Arlen 'Scottish Law' Spectator (sic), and Bryant no disrespect - as I don't know where you live (I wish Freepers would at LEAST fill in what State they live in on their profile) - but Rudy Giuliani would GO DOWN IN FLAMES on a national ticket.

Rudy could and is only considered a 'conservative' in places like New York or Kalifornia. Heck he isn't even a 'moderate' . He is a RINO; aka a liberal gun-grabbing, pro-abortion, statist. Just because he is 'tough on crime' (or was) and has an 'R' after his name don't mean squat. And his loss would be of epic proportions and maybe even equal Mondale's or McGovern's.
