The vast majority of users of this site would pull the "R" lever no matter who was running for President on the Republican ticket. Right?

Let me put it this way: Since I have been eligible to vote, which goes back to the 1972 election, I have found making my voting choices easy. That's because the democrat party was partially highjacked in 1968, with the final blow in 1972. The highjacking was from the likes of left wingers. Gary Hart (of McGovern's campaign), Tom Hayden, Jane Fonda, 'Flyin-but-lyin' Tom Harkin, Frank Church, and an assortment of other worthless-shreds.

These are just a few of the people that took control away from Scoop Jackson, Hubert Humphrey, among others.

Today's DEM party is 100%-USDA-RED. And that's why people like Zell Miller have chosen to get off as it continues lurching further to the left.

If there were a dem that stood up for my principles I would not hesitate to pull the lever. Particularly if the 'R' were someone like Arlen Spectre.

Good post. The issue isn't "the party" the issue is "the issues". There are plenty of RINO's that I will rejoice in seeing defeated someday.

A Zell Miller/Arlen Spectre matchup was exactly popped into my mind too!

Being in Boston, I have voted for dems over republicans occasionally in local elections (not too many republicans run at all, and the vast majority of those are way too liberal).

You're saying that the Democratic party is 100% Communist?? That's about as true as saying the Republican party is neo-Nazi. I've been voting since 1964; the worst vote I've cast was for Richard Nixon in 1968, being misled by his lies proclaiming his "plan" about ending the war in Vietnam. Humphrey was also for continuing the war, so there wasn't much of a choice in 1968.The change in the Democratic party in 1972 was a reaction to the war and was inevitable.
