This afternoon at about 6:30, John O'Neill was interviewed by local guy Dom Giordano (1210AM - Philadelphia) and he was OUTSTANDING! The Swift Boat Vets are NOT backing down one iota. John thoroughly debunked the Washington Post (and other) hit pieces with stone cold facts. He also pointed out the various lies that Kerry has been caught in and which were even ACKNOWLEDGED by the Washington Post. John also took some calls and was praised by everyone, including a couple of Vietnam vets who called into the show.
One caller, a Vietnam vet, said that he had injured himself in Vietnam ("a self-inflicted wound") by dropping an 8mm round on his hand and he would have laughed if anybody told him to put in for a Purple Heart. Apparently, it wasn't too difficult to get one. John joked that guys in his unit were afraid to go shave because they might cut themselves and end up with a Purple Heart.
There was also a lot of talk about the difficulty in finding 'Unfit for Command' at bookstores. For the most part this appears to be the result of a GROSS UNDERESTIMATE of how much DEMAND there would be for the book by the publisher, Regnery.
Prior to John, Dom interviewed a Vietnam POW (I forget the name - Gaitlan?) who talked about how Kerry's 1971 Senate testimony WAS USED BY THE ENEMY captors to intimidate and demoralize POWs.
It was quite an afternoon of compelling radio, let me tell you. If this type of talk radio is going on around the nation, Kerry is in big, big trouble.
John gardner was Kerrys gunner and he claims kerry is a snake whose war hero claims are a joke.
Well maybe not, but if I were on his crew and he admitted to atrocities with his boat I would feel that he had just accused me of the same thing. After all he wasnt alone on that boat shooting up the civilian population. I think I would be a little pissed to be called a war criminal by Kerry. But then like I say ,I cant read the minds of his crew. Maybe they liked making Kerrys little movie re-enactments.
Dom was reluctant to touch this story early on. From what I've gathered tonight, local vets that he trusts put a word in for O,Neill.
I better qualify this: There is another newspaper in Philadelphia, The Daily News, but that paper is unabashedly targeted at the urban hip-hop audience, and its editorial content reflects exactly that. Nobody who is serious pays much attention to the paper's editorial hollering.
On the other hand, The Daily News has always had a solid sports section and, incredibly (considering its editorial bent), the paper usually shoots pretty straight in its reporting, even when the news is bad for the Democrats. The Daily News certainly plays it straighter than the Inquirer in this regard.
Dom was absolutely thrilled to have O'Neill on, especially after he was floored by the just-ended interview with that POW who talked about how Kerry's Senate testimony was used against him and other POWs. This was the best O'Neill interview I have heard yet. When John is given the opportunity to complete his sentences and complete his thoughts, he is untouchable.
I fully understand why Carville, Lanny Davis, Chris Matthews and the rest of the Democrat scumbags see no choice but to rudely shout him (and supporters) down with interruptions and phoney excuses.
I think that with the newest Swift Boat Veterans TV ad about to make waves, we may see and hear a lot more of this POW. Do you happen to remember his name?
"John joked that guys in his unit were afraid to go shave because they might cut themselves and end up with a Purple Heart."
It was a great show, but I have a slightly different recollection of this line--I thought O'Neill said that they were afraid to let John KERRY shave because he might cut HIMSELF and end up with a purple heart.
When you are ON THE PAYROLL...you do what the bossliar says.
Agree.
Me too.
Ahh... Your recollection may be better than mine.
I like your recollection better.
Well, that's two people, so I obviously got it wrong.
Your recollection makes more sense.

I caught 2 minutes of NOW (Moyer's show, but two others were hosting).
They were discussing Campaign ads and the positive/negative effects of them.
They showed the new one (with Kerry labeling "all" as war criminals).
Their take was that Kerry was repeating things that he had heard, and couldn't be held "responsible" for the content of his testimony!! Of course, we wouldn't expect that he personally saw everyone committing attrocities, but surely he would have seen some (in addition to his own), or he wouldn't so testify?
They never once addressed the SBV portrayed in the ad, and the effect on him from Kerry's testimony.
Sick.
Thanks for the links.
Michael Smerconish is the morning host (530 to 900). I like his show. He is conservative but he is more than fair to liberal guests and callers. Which usually means he gives them more than enough rope to hang themselves.
Glenn Beck is on from 900 to noon. He now calls Philly his home and WPHT is his flagship station.
Dom Giordano is on in the evening. I don't care too much for his show. Something about him just makes me tune out after a few segments.
