Just got back from a resting vactation in the red states. I'll post some of that in the blog section soon.
Left Illinois last Friday, what impressed me is that from Rockford, IL (where I saw my last Kerry sticker) until the following Monday, I saw dozens of Bush bumperstickers and signs. On Monday in Theodore Roosevelt National Park (North Dakota) I saw my next Kerry sticker. (California plates). Lovely, since I traveled thru the battleground states of Wisconsin, Minnesota to get to North Dakota. I saw plenty of Bush stickers in South Dakota and Nebraska. No Kerry stuff (although I did see a "Custer was a Republican" sign in the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation).
Closer to home, in Iowa, I began seeing a few more Kerry bumper stickers, but Bush outnumbered Lurch there (in my view), three to one! Yeah! But let's make it ten to one!
Point one: If you have a car, get a Bush bumper sticker. Let America know we're out there in huge numbers. Or a lawn sign (same link)
Especially if you live on a busy street and or better, in view of traffic on an interstate highway.
What I though was very effective was the homemade "Bush 2004" sign I saw from I-94 near Eau Claire, WI. Makes us look really "grass roots."
Onward to victory!
In conclusion: If you live in a red state such as Nebraska, Blue State/Battleground State folks will be traveling across major interstates near your home. Since Bush will win the Dakotas, Nebraska and the like, Red Staters should by no means feel there is nothing else for them to do until Nov. 2. Get a sticker!
And if you have a home/farm/ranch on, let's say I-80 near North Platte, NE, get a Bush-Cheney sign up!!! Especially a homemade one!
I noticed the same thing in Missouri and Illinois two weeks ago. A few Kerry stickers, but mainly Bush/Cheney.
What's bothering me is I'm seeing to many kerry signs here in Texas. On lackland AFB for heavens sake.
It's like my sainted father says, "Everywhere you go: a-holes."
I feel like making a statement.
Even MORE IMPORTANT: Write letters to the editor!
In a few minutes, you can do a small thing to chip away at media bias.
Exactly
Do you know anyone who is going to Sturgis? I'm curious about what they think. Just for my own FWI.
I talked to my mom in Kalifornistan today and they seem strong for Bush (she's in Tulare.)
I was in the Dakotas at the tail end of Sturgis 04. Just as with the prev. poster, lots of POW/MIA flags, some yellow ribbons.
My neighbor just hied off to Sturgis, so I was curious. Thanks!
There are some good ideas posted here, something I haven't seen mentioned, get down to your local Republican Headquarters, and volunteer to make phone calls, there is a big push on to make many calls per day until election day.
What we need to do to win
1 You came through Mn. and didn't stop to say hi? I'm so..disappointed, Hey who am I kidding there'll be tears on my pillow tonight.
(For future reference, In Minnesota, A person may not cross state lines with a duck atop his head. So watch it!)
2 (Seriously) Volunteer, Man the phone banks, put together lawn signs, lick envelope, Someone has to clean up after rallies....
I am in a blue county in a red state. There is no republican party headquarters or place I can get signs.
I will take my credit card or whatever to the store tomorrow!
That's an interesting posting. But I don't expect that there will be all that many Kerry signs or bumper stickers in the so-called blue states either. Kerry's supporters are anti-Bush, not pro-Kerry.
