We were hoping the Supreme Court would strike them. Thing is, that they didn't only encourages these congressional critters. I'm expecting them to be emboldened and pile worse on top of this, billed as CFR "reform" mind you.

Gee, the new campaign finance laws sure have taken the dirty money and confusion out of this election and really cleaned everything up.

Yep, when you have even a fleeting thought that CNN printed a story that makes Kerry look bad, it's time for some rest! LOL.

Just remember that Al Gore invented it. Feingold of McCain Feingold fame must be one of the dumbest politicians in the senate. McCain might worry about the company he keeps.

Over at Slings and Arrows is a GREAT blog on connections:

« Kerry Campaign Embraces Censorship | Main | Why I Do This »

Independent
Kerry's campaign says Swiftboat Veterans is not valid, but MoveOn.org is:

Debra Deshong of the Kerry campaign told Fox News there's a difference between MoveOn.org and Swift Boat Veterans for Truth: "MoveOn.org is an independent organization that existed well before the Kerry campaign," she said, whereas Swift Boat Veterans for Truth "is not an independent group."
Deshong invoked Friday's New York Times article as proof: "And in today's New York Times, it details exactly all the ties this group (Swift Boat Veterans for Truth) has to the Bush White House."

You want ties? How about this:

The group operates with a very small staff of highly talented people, with much of their technical support outsourced, and staff members working primarily from their homes. [16, p. 4]. Along the way, Blades and Boyd have had the help of such talented folks as Zack Exley and Eli Pariser. Exley is the founder of the 2000 parody site GWBush.com about which George Bush declared “There ought to be some limits to freedom!” [24, para 10). Although Exley has left MoveOn to work directly on John Kerry’s Presidential campaign, Pariser is still with MoveOn, acting as the Executive Director.
Straight from MoveOn.org to Kerry's campaign. No ties there. But there is more. Steve Bing, who gave almost one million dollars to MoveOn.org has private lunches with John Edwards:

After a recent private lunch with Democratic vice-presidential candidate Edwards, Bing also declined to answer questions about his relationship with Montemarano.
I'm absolutely sure they have never talked about the campaign. Posted by Bryon at August 20, 2004 09:37 AM | TrackBack

I think Bush believed the Supreme Court would get rid of it. Perhaps if the High Court had a couple pair...

Let me emaphasize: Joseph Sandler is counsel for MOVEON.ORG and Democratic National Committee!

Thanks. I had used something like that in the original title for this post. Unfortunately, last night's Admin Monitor changed the title of the thread to the title of the article. While I understand the general principal, this should be an exception, because the point of this post was not the article. The point of this post was the connection through Sandler between DNC, MoveOn.org, and Kerry. The point of including the article was only as documentary evidence of that particular point: namely that Sandler, well-known as co-signee of the letter to television stations not to show the swift-boat advertisement, was counsel, also, for MoveOn.org.

I would like to appeal to the Amdin Monitor today to switch it back to the more appropriate title, since no one really cares about a slug-fest between RNC and DNC published by CNN 6 months ago.

"And Bush signed it and those of us who predicted it would be a disaster especially since Bush promised to veto it were vilified as Bush Bashers"

Errr...I predicted it would be a disaster, signed petitions, contacted President Bush and begged him to veto it....I still crab about CFR because every one of my predictions is coming true...and am still considered a mindless BushBOT.
