WASHINGTON - Can Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry prove his allegation that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group airing ads denigrating his service as a Navy officer in Vietnam, are nothing more than "a front for the Bush campaign"? In one sense, that may be an immaterial question if voters decide that the group is part of an overall anti-Kerry strategy that is approved or assented to by President Bush or his campaign aides.

This means it is impacting them HARD.
Internal polls must be looking like shit.
Good.
Kerry is a self proclaimed traitor and war criminal.
He IS unfit for anything but a court martial.

The incredible part is that he has been a asking Bush to call on the Swiftboat organization to pull their ads. If he did that, he'd be violating the independent campaign committee status of the Swiftboat organization. Which is why Kerry bangs this drum - because he knows Bush cannot do what he is asking.

I simply can't believe the party of moveon.org and Michael Moore can have the bald-faced brass to even try this. Highly gratifying... ;-)

We've all had those dreams where we're running as hard as we can but we're moving like we're running in water. That's what's going on here in the political sense. The dems want to commit character assasination against the Swift Vets in the worst way. They want want to unleash their attack dogs on John O'Neill & Company with orders to kill and devour until nothing's left but eyeglasses. They want to destroy these men and strike their names from public record and punish any man, woman or child that dares utter their names.
But they can't.
They can't because you don't attack a veteran without sustaining severe damage yourself, especially if your guy is technically in the same category as the guys you're attacking. It's kinda like being over-run by the enemy and setting the mortar to fire straight up. You're risking damage to yourself and those on your side, but you have no other option because the enemy is inside the compound and firing point-blank at you.
So what you do is snipe at the flanks. Go after the donor because he's not a vet. Go after Bush because he's the one that benefits. Do anything but go after the vets too vigorously.
Hey, who's that charging over the razor wire? POW's?!!.......

The more kerry's traitors bitch...
the more they draw attention to, and add credibity to... the allegations they are trying to get covered up.
So friggin' rich.
GREAT Kerry.
Keep it up.
America is turning their head to puke at the wafting stench of the traitorous PUSS running from the open sores in your rotting character....

Seems to me the only evidence that needs to be stressed is the Dick Cavett interview.
O'Neill was debating Kerry many years before George W. Bush ever thought about politics.
O'Neill had a political opinion back then, and it's just been transferred to his work on the book and the ads.

Now it seems kerry was 40 miles from Cambodia and by the time the day was over had been ambushed 3 times I know they would find a way to weave Bush into this and make him accountable for the problem:)

DUers are posting instructions on their site how to vote multiple times in this poll (one guy said he had already voted 25 times).
Online polls really mean nothing. It's whoever is willing to waste their time and manipulate the "system" that wins.

To prove, for example, that an outside groups ad was coordinated with a candidates campaign, any one of the following is required, according to FEC spokesman Bob Biersack:
- The ad being aired by the group was broadcast at the request or suggestion of the candidate, his campaign or an agent of the campaign.
- The group suggested the ad and the candidate or his agent assented to the ad, for example, by saying something such as, That sounds like a good idea to me.
- The candidate or his agent was materially involved in decisions about the content of the ad, the times and places where it would air, the medium used, etc.
- The ad was aired after what the FEC calls substantial discussion between the person or outside group paying for the ad and the campaign. If, for example, a campaign manager said to the head of a 527 group, Over the next two weeks, our campaigns ads will focus on the loss of textile jobs in this state, and the outside group then ran its own ads buttressing that message, it would be coordination.
I'm betting WE can make a bettr case about Kerry than Kerry can make about Bush.

Can Kerry make a case that Bush broke the law?
Their purpose is not to mount a successful case in court. Their purpose is to use the court case to lead people to believe that Bush broke the law. This is propaganda right out of 1984.

Will their court case require a kind-of discovery process? Could the Vets require him to release his records to prove their story?

No, they didn't have any other choice but to take this foolish gamble. The swiftees really forced it on him because their truthfulness was gaining traction.
It reminds me of the Celebrity Poker Championship that's on one of the cable channels. Kerry just said, "All in."
Now he's gotta show his cards. We'll soon see if he's holding a 2 and a 3 or an Ace-King. My money's on the 2-3. Of course, there are still a few cards to turn over, but this is an All In type move.
This thing's going nuclear now. That's how serious it is, IMO.

I don't even think they care whether it gets into court. All they care about is the public spectacle of trying to get it there and the way they can use that to imply that Bush was doing something illegal. They did the same thing with Bush's National Guard service. They didn't want an answer to that. They just wanted to keep the questions going.

And Kerry is spending his war-chest,over this to boot. This is so bad for him,in every conceivable way.Couldn't have happened any better, had the GOP/RNC/President Bush planned it all;which they didn't!

Tad Devine is getting his connections of the Swift Vet Boats to Bush Cheney from The New York Times. Now, there's a paper known for its honesty.
Tad Devine needs to better educate himelf on Kerry's Senate record. Devine just doesn't want the truth out there.
