Time to freep the FEC and FCC headquarters.

Here's a link to the "Complaints" section on the FEC website.
Filing a Complaint

I. Filing a Complaint

Any person may file a complaint if he or she believes a violation of the Federal Election Campaign Laws or Commission regulations has occurred or is about to occur. The complaint must be made in writing, and sent to the Office of General Counsel, Federal Election Commission, 999 E Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20463. The original must be submitted along with three copies, if possible. Facsimile transmissions are not acceptable.

A complaint must comply with certain requirements. It must:
Provide the full name and address of the person filing the complaint (called the complainant); and
Be signed, sworn to and notarized. This means that the notary public's certificate must say "...signed and sworn to before me..."

Furthermore, in order for a complaint to be considered complete and proper, it should:

Clearly recite the facts that show specific violations under the Commission's jurisdiction (citations to the law and regulations are not necessary);
Clearly identify each person, committee or group that is alleged to have committed a violation (called the respondent);
Include any documentation supporting the allegations, if available; and
Differentiate between statements based on the complainant's (the person who files the complaint) personal knowledge and those based on information and belief.
Statements not based on personal knowledge should identify the source of the information.

The line from the article:
Artists, art galleries and wealthy collectors are contributing more than 170 works for an auction June 29 in New York to raise money for two pro-Democratic groups, America Coming Together and the political action committee ARTS PAC, that will use the cash for voter mobilization and other election-year efforts.
cites a violation of the new regulations. PACs are not allowed to support or target a specific candidate.

The FEC requires complaints to be notarized -- just a small inconvenience, since most banks will notarize documents for their customers for a nominal fee.

Will they aslo be asking that the ads for moveon.org be pulled?

As you already surmised, the answer is NO.

Debra Deshong with the Kerry Kamp said this morning on Fox that the Moveon ads are completely independent (yes, she said it) unlike, Debra charged, the Swift Vet ads that are filled with lies and are a front group for the Bush campaign.

Of course the fact of the matter is completely reversed.

What a pass we've come to. Just look at what the dems are doing.

Howlin, this doesn't make sense for Kerry to give this much news coverage to the swift vets.

These ads must be really killing their polling numbers or his managers are really dumb!

The courts already upheld that the right of free speech doesn't apply during the election cycle.

FOLKES.........this is a STRATEGY to CHANGE THE SUBJECT!!! This gives the MSM the opportunity to report on the story as though KERRY is being attacked and now the group attacking is under investigation by the feds. Thereby the FITNESS for COMMAND book and the swify ads become yesterdays news.

The timing for the second ad couldn't be better. Get the attention with the first ad raising controversy to a fever pitch, then release the second ad now that they have everyone's attention. I think the second ad is much more damning because it uses Kerry's own words very effectively.

"This obnoxious gigolo son of a bitch LIED about being under fire when he pulled Rassmen out of the water."

A bit off point, but did anyone hear the caller to Bill Bennet's show today say that Rassman is probably glad he wasn't in Vietnam with the OTHER Senator from Massachusetts? Said that the other Senator doesn't pull people out of the water.

Fox had video of him looking concerned in FLA today, though one woman said she didn't even know he had come. I think the concerned look was genuine though...he'd probably just heard the new Swifties ad which is absolutely devastating.

Hmmmm..."They can simply GIVE the book away free on the web. None of the Swifties are in this for the money."

WHAT happens when those establishments(which the majority are liberal)decide not to print the books? The RATS are notorious for their scare tactics and they'll go as far as filing law suits galore to scare the hell outta publishers!

It would be very tough to get a prior restraint injunction, which is what it would have to be, because the SwiftVets have an ad in the can, and will no doubt produce others.

If the Swift Boat Ads are false, he shouldn't worry and just prove them wrong.

This is why i have just been shaking my head at people who yell that President Bush should be refuting all the BS that has been spewing this past year. Bush hasnt a thing to worry about since all the lies get found out without him saying a word!! As for sKerry pitching this huge snit fit and demanding the ads be pulled? well it seems to me that some groups were calling for moveon ads to taken off the air here a few months back and the FCC didnt pull them so what makes skerry think the swiftboats ads will get different treatment? and be pulled? I dont see where they will be pulled. JMO

You are right about that.

Do you know how to get in touch with the ACLU? I would love to see them take on the issue of the book ban proposal.

The ad is devastating. Brave men endured torture rather than sign a piece of paper stating the lies Kerry proudly proclaimed to Congress.

He was a traitor then; he's a traitor now.

He will always be a traitor and a coward.
