Oops! John Edwards, the multi-millionaire super tort lawyer, made a law school 101 blunder at the recent Democratic convention. He raised a question without knowing the answer.
The Democratic vice presidential candidate said, "If you have any questions about what John Kerry's made of, just spend three minutes with the men who served with him."
Evidently, Edwards did not know at the time that almost every officer who commanded Kerry or served alongside him opposes his candidacy.
Rear Adm. Roy Hoffmann, who ran the swift boat campaign in Vietnam, said; "Only one of his 23 fellow officers in charge from Coastal Division 11 supports John Kerry. Overall, more than 250 swift boat veterans are on the record questioning Kerry's fitness to serve as commander in chief."
He said the list includes every officer Kerry served under in Vietnam.
Edwards meant Kerry's "band of brothers," the small group of vets who served under him in Vietnam and now strongly support him for President.

Perhaps Edwards ain't as slick as they want us to believe...
Edwards to Kerry: "Hey! Gomer! You want to enlighten me before I go out again and make a total ass of myself on your behalf?"
BTW, where is Edwards? Haven't seen him since his anniversary dinner at Wendy's. Is he campaigning? Is he tied up somewhere? Does he have an early curfew?
John Edwards must be starting to wonder whatever did happen to Lloyd Bentsen. And I doubt if he's going to get any zingers at Cheney.
Edwards is a one-trick pony.
idiotic David Corn was on Fox this morning..debating a GOP talking head about the Swift ads..responding to the point that these guys loathe Kerry because of what he said abotu them after he returned from VN..calling them baby killers, Corn's defense of Kerry was..."Have you forgotten about My Lai?"
Bwahahahha...he needs to sue he now has foot in mouth disease.
He appeared subdued, didn't he? Waiting for his talking points. He knew he didn't have any dry powder.
Who is this Edwards guy?
Yup..he went out and took one for the teamm...but if that's your best defense...geez, louise..
Remember "My Pretty Pony", popular sometime in the 80s. Little girls liked it, especially since it came with a brush so they could style its hair.
You meant to say that John Edwards is John Kerry's trick pony.
Kerry said, and I still carry the shrapnel in my leg from a wound in Vietnam."
We know that he did not require hospitalization for any wounds sustained in Vietnam. For 36 years this piece of shrapnel has not bothered him while he was riding a bicycle, windsurfed, bowled, or skied. He has had access to Walter Reed Hospital for free medical care, not that he would need it. Yet he never had this piece of metal removed and mounted for display? OK Senator, prove it.
You're right. The rest of the column is excellent.
There is that 1% to worry about, though.
"Wait," objected the deceased pettifogger, "I haven't been all bad. I gave money to charity, too, you know."
St. Peter consulted his book. "Ah, yes. Once you gave a dime to a panhandler, and another time you tipped the shoeshine boy a nickle. Is that correct?" "That's right," the lawyer replied smugly. St. Peter turned to the angel next to him. "Fair enough. Give this guy fifteen cents and tell him to go to hell."
When that same lawyer arrived down under, he advised the devil it must all be a mistake: at 47 he was too young to be dead.
"Oh, I don't know," replied the devil. "Judging by your hourly billing records you must be at least 103!"
I am sorry, I j ust could not resist.
Come on.......Edwards's mistake was MINOR. Now...... spelling POTATO(E) now that is an unforgiveable MISTAKE!!!
Hey I knew that was a mistake from my experience in watching Law and Order
