I'm in for McCain in front of a camera no later than Noon EST.
I am hoping that McCain learned a lesson from his last Kerry support comment. Perhaps his love of America will finally outweigh his dislike and envy of George W. Bush.

*looking at watch* I thought that McCain would have jumped to the chance of being in front of the cameras like so many times before. What happened?

In an effort to help todays generation understand what kerry did, who he did it do, and how many people saw it, I need 2 things from you fellow freepers:

1) The list of shows that kerry was in from 1969 through 1975?
2) What were the ratings for these shows, or how could one get the ratings for these shows?

My point is this: Many people today see someone appearing on some talk show and they think it's like going on the late late show with kilborn, or something.

Going on, in the early 70s, Meet The Press, Dick Cavit and all the others, given the liberal media concentration at the time is the equivalent, in ratings terms, of going on CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox, and PBS combined !

Can any helpful freeper help on the above 2 questions ?

PBS did an extremely well done and unbiased documentary, Return with Honor, doing lengthy interviews with a lot of these Vietnam vets who were tortured in the Hanoi Hilton. They still sell it on their web site. I cried while watching it and have viewed it more than once; I always get choked up. I highly recommend getting this video.

McCain only shows up in one snippet IIRC, which I thought was very telling about his situation.

I'm glad these men are finally getting to tell at least part of the rest of the story.

John Kerry's got to be fixated into panic mode by now.

"This Kerry testimony has been available to the liberal/mainstream media for a very long time."

The mainstream media still belives every word of the slander. They have been trying since day one to make the US military in Iraq look like monsters.

They flogged civilian casualties then it was all Abu Graib all the time. They have called the terrorists and insurgents freedom fighters. They haven't changed a word out of their play book.

Just contributed another $25 dollars. Definitely gaining momemtum, and the polls are starting to reflect the damage. The next 7-10 days before the RNC convention will be critical. If this continues to gain steam, the RNC will put Bush over the top to stay.

"When Bush wins, these ads will go down in history as some of the most effective political ads ever. And not even run by the candidates."

What do you want to bet the first item on congress's return is the New Campaign finance reform bill.

Hillary couldn't win if she had been in the race from the start.

She especially couldn't win if she had been in the race from the start...she has no upfront skills to campaign. The only way she can win is to scheme in the background like she did in NY. Its not so much that HRC is running a parallel campaign as it is the HRC MACHINE is running and the unexpected senator from NY has plenty of time between now & Election Day. I could be 100% wrong but I don't think we should take our eyes off her & those in her circle. Some are still mad about Florida, 2000; others will have used it to sharpen & refine their skills & treachery.

I went over to DU to see what their take is. Even they are starting to get a little concerned. Which is to say a lot for them. They are really concerned about the stories that are surfacing that Kerry is trying to get Unfit for command banned or removed.

I'd like to see anyone, ANYONE, step up & slime these men. Of course, they wll not have the balls to attack former POW's like they attack "ordinary" vets.

The rub is The Hon. John McCain, United States Senator, former Vietnam POW stationed in the Hanoi Hilton, has already called the Swift Boat vets dishonorable and their actions dishonest. What will he say now?

In other words, which former PoW/s are the dems going to believe?

To maintain the dem position, one must simply close his eyes, ears, heart and mind and keep walking ... right over that big cliff.

Hoping the liberal media would hide the truth; Swifties are forcing their hands.

It makes me stop and wonder because Bush and all the RNC people have said they "honor Kerry's service" if that didn't push Kerry over the edge -- knowing that Bush and the RNC would NOT dis his service.

But I guess Kerry dismissed the opinions of the millions of Vietnam vets who hate his guts after his VVAW activities. I still hate him - 30 years later and I am not even a Vet. I can't imagine their hatred for him if it is even slightly more than mine for Kerry.

And so it begins. This from the slugs over at DU: (get out yer big gigantic barf bag for this!)

As is always the case, that will prove a very counterproductive exercise.

Sen. Kerry's testimony is not only true, but has really become the guiding image of the popular view of the war in Viet Nam. Almost everyone except the most rabid of reactionaries is quite aware there were war crimes and atrocities routinely carried out as part of the U.S. effort in that war, just as they know war crimes and atrocities were routinely carried out as part of the North Vietnamese effort in that war. This small clique of deluded men may quarrel with this, being incapable of honest self-examinarion, but it is a fact, and a widely known and understood fact.

Lt. Kerry, ijn his testimony, is clearly a young man of extraordinary courage and honesty who does not spare himself from his criticisms in this matter. This is an admirable trait, and most people caused to look on its display will admire him for it, and be very favorably impressed by the character he displays. Knowing youth to be the school of the old, they will be inclined to see these same admirable traits in him today.

The popular mood concerning the war in Iraq is turning today. Most people view it as a mistake; most people wonder how long it will continue, and see no real prospect of success, beyond planting "our own Saddam" over that unhappy land, and conmtinuing to hear of killings and turmoil there. Little will be gained for the enemy, to put it mildly, by reminding the people of a mass movement against a war that achieved some success in altering government policy.

The problem the enemy has run up against in promoting this line of attack is a sort of mirror of something often seen in this forum. Persons who are deeply committed to a political belief tend over time to come to believe the number of people who agree with them is much greater than it actually is. They therefore fall easily into misjudgements concerning what measures will actually move a great mass of people. The reactionary right is particularly prone to this, because it spends so much time assuring itself that it is the real "heart and soul" of the country. The fact is that most people are repelled by any ideological belief, and ideologues can only gain mass following by concealing the true content of their ideologies, and the depth of their attachment to them. It does not do to let the cat out of the bag, and this line of attack does that in spades....

"Stupid men do stupid things, and desperate men do desperate things. We are in for a desperately stupid summer."

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

TRUTH = SWIFTIES

Even the gentleman who is quoted below would have had the guts to support the truth!

"The Swifties were paid off with 200,000 to be spread among over 250 men. That is what they get PLUS being smeared."

No veteran standing against Hanoi John Kerry has been "paid off". It costs money to organize rallies, contact people who've been seperated by years and miles and create ads. You might be interested to know that no Vietnamese American Against John Kerry has been "paid off".

All Kerry is discovering is that if you screw over and destroy a few million people, it IS going to come back to bite you.

WE have never forgiven. WE have never forgotten. We've always been here, telling the trugh about that blood soaked b@stard for decades.

He's running for president on his blood and misery soaked past.

We're still here.

PERIOD.

What the Dummies think about this does not mean much. They're going to vote for Lurch no matter what. This is for those reasonable people (not the psychos at DU) to digest. Besides, if they are getting this upset, the Swifties are doing a lot of things right.
