Unfit for bookstores The Kerry campaign calls on a conservative publisher to withdraw book after the Washington Post torpedoes the veracity of a Swift boat veteran.

The Kerry campaign has told Salon that the publisher of "Unfit for Command," the book that is at the center of the attack on Kerry's military record by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, is retailing a hoax and should consider withdrawing it from bookstores. "No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the military service of an American veteran," said Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton. "If I were them, I'd be ducking under my desk wondering what to do. This is a serious problem."
Even some uncomfortable Republicans might breathe a sigh a relief if "Unfit for Command" were to vanish from bookstores: "I don't think the Swift Boat Veterans are helping the Republican cause," Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., remarked on CNN Thursday.

I couldn't tell you, but I found a few shares in a plastic tray at the convenience store cash register. There were a few pennies holding them down.
Where were they when clowns like Richard Clarke were coming out with lie-filled books?
Oh yes, I remember... they breathlessly reported every single allegation as the unvarnished truth and ignored all evidence to the contrary.
---When we went to pay (we bought five), the cashier saw them and said "You got to them before me, I was going to do that!" I looked up, surprised at finding a conservative working in a book store, and he added "...so I could burn them." ---
I think that they will try a book burning and pretty soon. They don't seem able to help themselves. I can only hope it gets on film and out to the voters. Bush could win this by 20 points. I've heard the most venomous stuff from these people.
Before the Iraq war started I overheard this one young, attractive real estate agent cold calling people with anti-war messages. She was talking about how Bush should send his "two slut daughters" over there. She was doing this in a very upper class British accent. I was stunned. I don't think more than about 30-40% of the population is mentally ill but we need to wake up all the sleep walkers.
I couldn't agree with you more.
Look who's talking.
He's a walkin' talkin' bad pun. Mr. RINOplasty thinks he "nose" what's good for "the Republican cause"?
WTF is going on with this country?
I'm about one surreal-bite away from running up my flag half-mast and upside down.
It's like I can't look at the news anymore without seeing something that is so off the charts insane as to beg description.
Oh, and by the way -- in between A. Keyes insane adventure in Marxist redistributionism, and Shay's sidling up to the Kerrybots, Iran's war threat is very real
I suggest reading the article at the top of that thread, and post 27 at the very least.
In fact, post 27 by itself is enough to ruin your day.
I will be frank. I have been VERY discouraged with Bush. I voted for him, and was even enthusiastic about him at that point -- remarkable, given my disgust with his father, who got one-vote-only out of me. And my enthusiasm grew as I watched his conduct in office after 9/11.
But after that, it seemed to be all downhill, and picking up speed, to the point that I had pretty much resolved to stay home on election day, to "send a message" to the "where ELSE are they gonna go" Rove Rangers.
But as I watch the Manchurian Kerrygate shaping up, I conclude I have no option but to once more hold my nose and vote "R", to try to keep this lunatic out of office.
I never thought I'd see a candidate worse than Clinton. And since the 15-second-attention-span voters were willing to be hypnotized into RE-electing Slick, I figure anything is possible on election day -- including "the hypnotized masses" swooning over this amazingly transparent lying POS, and sweeping him into office in a landslide.
I'd better stop now before I lapse into the vernacular.
Well now, I guess Rep. Shays is a real expert on "helping the Republican cause". He did a great job with his Campaign Finance bill which created a George Soros-fueled, $200 million soft-money advantage for Democrats this year. Nice work, Chris, with "helping" us with the Left-wing 527s!
Yep. And they will NEVER back down. Take it to the bank.
yes indeed! Check my tagline. I like yours too.
I love it!! Like a publisher is going to stop publishing something that's making them loads of $$$$. And all the whining is only going to give the SBV even more publicity and airtime. Keep going Dems...WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Gee, now the party of "make every vote count" (except the absentee ballots, but that's getting nit-picky) and "free speech" wants to ban a book....
I wonder how long it'll take before protestors start printing out fake UNFIT FOR COMMAND book covers and start pasting them on books for their book burnings?
With the DHIMMICRATS and the likes of the ACLU, ANYTHING is possible! It is too easy to abuse the privacy and free speech of internet users. A thin-skinned blue-blood like Kerry can dish it out, but cannot take it. When Johnny comes marchin' home to Taxachusetts after losing the election (or after having served 4 - or 8!!! - years in the White House), he'll still be a hypersensitive girly-man!
I, like everyone else, have to jump on this comment........
They didn't complain about putting Bill and Hillary's, "My Lies" and "Rewriting History" lies on the bookshelves. And, Mikey Moore's propaganda.
BTW, I think it is funny when I looked these books up at Borders, I found the following real books..........
"Michael Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man," by David T. Hardy & Jason Clarke
And, "Re-writing History," by Dick Morris.
I may just have to spend a couple hours in Borders this weekend, checking out these books.

I did and his staff will not be happy campers after reading.
why are hit jobs allowed against george bush, but not allowed against john kerry?
