On November 6, 2000, President George Bush was elected President of the United States. Despite the liberal challenges through recount after recount after recount, George W. Bush still won the election. Regardless of the liberal slander and court challenges, George W. Bush still won the election. It was his destiny, his America. His chance to change the course of the U.S. Military, the course of the American spirit, revive a sluggish economy, and a chance to bring pride back to the White House.
After eight years of debauchery in the Oval Office, President Bush was sworn in on January 20, 2001. His faith in God and respect for the American people would give him the ability to withstand those awful days of transition to the White House. While liberals ranted and raved about his illegitimacy, Bush boldly cast his vision for America. He stood with pride at the podium and gave Americans a vision of optimism for times ahead. He spoke of duty and civility-something lacking during the Clinton administration. In his address, President Bush stated, We are not this story's author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose. Yet his purpose is achieved in our duty, and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another. Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today, to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and every life.
Ironically, his code name is Trailblazer. A name fit for a man who would be trailblazing in the twenty-first century. President Bushs first trail led him to his faith in God when announcing his faith-based initiative for childcare. This was an unprecedented move causing the liberals to react by quoting the separation of church and state. Until George W. Bush came along, the word, God, hadnt been used in the Oval Office since President George H.W. Bushs tenure. George W. Bushs belief in the Almighty had given him the courage to open a path and transcend above the politically correct times from the Clinton regime.
Liberals, much like the Nazis, removed religion from peoples lives. Their belief is that the federal government will solve your problems for you, essentially leaving that to man. During my years of enlistment between 1996-1999, any reference to God was often discouraged in the U.S. Army. It was a known fact that a soldier didnt talk about religion or politics while serving in the U.S. Military. This was the morale lowering effect that pushed me out of the service. It was liberalism at its finest hour, driving thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coasties out of the U.S. Armed Forces. Faith in God and faith in America are closely bound together. It is the driving force of these personnel that they perform their duty for their country, their God, and their loved ones. If these men and women dont have something to believe in, then they wont put themselves in harms way for the greater good of liberty. President Bush inspires those personnel serving in our Armed Forces. By stomping a footpath for God, he has made it a household word again, and restored the faith in the U.S. Military. In restoring that faith, he has made a better America.
On September 11, 2001, President George Bush would find himself blazing yet another trail. This road would test his courage, strength, and integrity. With the death of nearly three thousand Americans, he would have to wage war on terrorism, a war that would take him to several different countries to fight. President Bush would need the support of America as he sent their sons and daughters off to war. In his address to the nation, he stated, The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I've directed the full resources of our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and to bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.
This statement was the beginning of the rally to gain support of Americans, giving those terrorists that would harm us a Texas style brand of justice. With a united America, he sent troops to Afghanistan, crushing the Taliban, splintering Al-Qaeda, and liberating a country badly in need of change. His actions almost prompted my return to the U.S. Army. His conviction, passion, and dedication to the War on Terror have given the U.S. Armed Forces a purpose not found since President Reagans era. President Bushs drive to eradicate terrorists has taken the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines into countries to liberate them from oppression. It is that duty that has cemented their faith in George W. Bush. And it is Bushs faith in God that has given him the ability to make those tough decisions sending the men and women of the Armed Forces into conflicts with terrorism. These men and women gladly volunteer to free these countries and make America safer. For it is their belief in their Commander-in-Chief, that they exercise their duties with honor and distinction.
Bush resurrected the faith of the U.S. Military in the President of the United States. His unswerving devotion to America, Americans, and all that is stands for, gives the soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coast guard pride in performing their tasks. Their pride in America is back and their dedication to Her has become paramount again. Ronald Reagan spurred this kind of patriotic duty of its military and citizens. Much like Reagan, President Bush has accomplished this in the twenty-first century, despite the constant disparaging remarks of the partisan media. President Theodore Roosevelt once said, The first requisite of a citizen in this republic of ours is that he should be able and willing to pull his weight.
Those words bring home the first four years of President George W. Bushs service to his country. Not only does he inspire the soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coasties, but inspires the American citizen. He motivates them to volunteer to support this great republic, to do their part in a young country. From senior citizens to teenagers, he encourages Americans to pull their weight in the War on Terror, the economy, supporting the troops, and renewing their patriotism, which seemed to lose its way during the Clinton administration.
The Clinton administration taught us not to take responsibility and not to take action. He taught young people that promiscuous sex is all right and cheating on your wife is normal, as if somehow we had regressed to the 1960s. He lowered the morale of the men and women of the U.S. Military through the Dont ask, dont tell policy. He damaged Americas reputation in Somalia and destroyed the respect for the office of the presidency, almost taxing us into oblivion. He allowed Osama Bin Laden to build power. He allowed Saddam Hussein the time to hide and remove his weapons of mass destruction. President Clinton did more to harm this country than thirty years of terrorism attacks on American citizens. These attacks began increasing with the first attack in 1993 on his watch. He made America appear weak and helpless, giving the impression that we wont do anything no matter what you do to us. And by ignoring the terrorists, he aided their growth, organization, and confidence. Clinton was, by his actions, one of the worst presidents in American history. So, when President Bush took office in January of 2001, he had to become a trailblazer. He had to focus a country losing its way. He had to lower taxes, traveling a path not taken since 1981. He had to mend the broken morale of the troops, Americans, and its reputation across the globe. He had no other choice but to clean up the messes left by Clinton and his liberal administration.
George W. Bush has become the most important man in the twenty-first century. His actions in the War on Terror have spread more liberty than any treaty throughout our short history. He has proven the United Nations a criminal and useless organization, an organization allowing genocide to occur in Somalia and for a dictatorship to thrive in Iraq. President Bush, through his actions, can advance the cause of conservatism and become one of the greatest presidents in this century. He has become the Trailblazer his nickname so aptly indicates.
Ack!
