Odd photo: John Kerry being condescending to his African-American aide?

A news report posted on another thread indicates that John Kerry was not happy about the reception he received at the VFW convention. He was ticked that his staff said he'd get a warm reception, but instead it was cool, if not downright cold.
This photo shows Kerry in what appears to be a fully condescending mode toward his black aide. Kerry's face is grim and stern. His eyebrows are raised and he's wagging that finger at the poor aide, who looks startled.
Here's Yahoo's caption: U.S. Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry talks to his campaign trip director Setti Warren (L) before a 'Front Porch Visit' on health care in Derry, New Hampshire August 19, 2004. Kerry accused U.S. President George W. Bush of using surrogates to 'do his dirty work,' as the Democratic presidential challenger hit back on Thursday at a Republican assault on his Vietnam War record. REUTERS/Brian Snyder US ELECTION

Were I not old enough to remember West Side Story, I'd swear you were quoting Senator Byrd.

It looks to me that he's about to close the door and the black is backing up so he can do it.You've got it all wrong. The black man's arm is caught in the car window, and Kerry's SUV is dragging him down the street, while his screams go unnoticed.

Okay, I have analyzed the photo. Setti is also gesturing with his hand and appears to be speaking or attempting to speak. He appears to be trying to get a point across. Kerry's index finger is raised in a "Stop talking" gesture. As in, "What you are saying is worthless; what I have to say is all that matters."

Hi, Brad's Gramma. How ya doin'? If there's a photo of the boy from the front, I haven't seen it. He just sort of seems to be a prop for Kerry in the photos in this sequence that I've seen. In contrast, our Dubya always makes sure kid gets their photo taken for proud mom and dad.

The Marine sergeant looks like he wants to break that finger off at its root.

What's wrong with that?
I call Gramps Master Gramps all the time and that's the truth and that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

I'd buy it if that was the only dorky photo of Kerry throwing a ball.

How ya doin'?Well, let's see. How am I doing. Well, I TRIED to reply to you a while back but got the Does Not Exist on this Server notice. So, I figured they pulled the thread.
Then, I hit refresh and it came back.
Then I got another goofy notice.
I am confused. But FINE other than that! I think it's glock's fault. :-)

a maid who says "Master Kerry is not available." So, I'm uncouth or hopelessly out of date. But I was always taught that "Master" referred to a young boy, and you should use "Mister" for an adult man.
But, then, I'm not French.

.....and then, I post to you and it's not there. MY page is stuck on post #88.

Your analysis may very well be right. What made me think that Kerry might be condescending or angry is Setti's startled expression.

Me too. Can't happen with the Secret Service around, sigh. But maybe if Kerry loses the election...
You're right...wonder if that Secret Service Agent Kerry cursed out would like to be the first in line to do so...hehe!
