A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (PHOTOS): 8.19.04

The President's hardworking National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice spoke about and took questions on the Global War on Terror's war of ideas, addressing the efforts the Bush Administration has taken to lead the world toward values and understanding that will bring a just and lasting peace, at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington D.C. today. Dr. Rice counseled Americans to be 'less critical of every twist and turn' in Iraq.

Retiring Senator Zell Miller, D-GA, will deliver the keynote address at the GOP Convention.

Dr. Condoleeza Rice talks with Sean Hannity (radio link) on military transformation.

The First Lady had a significant interview with Bill Sammon of The Washington Times, stating she believes life begins at conception and that she supports her husband's view on abortion. Asked if she was pro-life, she answered yes and stated abortion should be rare. "Mrs. Bush laughed incredulously when asked whether the press was fair and impartial in its coverage of a conservative such as President Bush. Her press secretary, Gordon Johndroe, laughed even more heartily." The twins will not be speaking at the GOP convention, she said. The short interview is worth the read. She described her husband as "very loving and compassionate and really sweet."

The interview excerpted further: "The first lady was asked whether she would be devastated if her husband lost. 'Yes, of course,' she said. 'Would we still have a life? Sure. Would we have a good life? Sure.' [Sammon asks:] Would Americans survive a Kerry presidency? 'They'll do a lot better,' she said, smiling ruefully, 'with a Bush re-election.'"

President Bush will be vacationing for a week at his ranch so we're not likely to be seeing a lot of the usual photos.

I was klutzy enough to walk into Guffman's SUV rear-view mirror, trip up the stairs in her garage and knock over a bunch of things in her laundry room

Do you walk really rapidly?

The MSM and the pollsters are supporting and aiding & abetting Kerry. I don't believe for one New York minute that Kerry is ahead, anywhere.

Look at the crowds wherever the Presient goes?!!! Look at the smiles - look at the NUMBERS of them.

In contrast, look at the small numbers of people around Kerry, look at their long faces. Ever see any flags? Ever see any smiles?

I have to believe that the MSM wants us to believe that Kerry is going to win so that people will go to the polls and vote for "the sure thing".

LAdies and gents - the sure thing is the President for FOUR MORE YEARS.

Truthy

**What hour of the day do you take tea in your neck of the planet? And what is consumed in today's tea-taking? I've always wondered about that.**

Traditional high tea was between 4 and 5 in the afternoon and one had tea, scones cakes and of course delicate sandwiches with the crust cut off. Today tea has almost disspeared we drink buckets of tea but do not eat tea most people in England have a breakfast then lunch at work sandwiches or something heated in the microwave and then a cooked dinner at night. Have I answered your question right or missunderstood what you meant.

I have a question for you what do Ameicans mean by biscuits and are what the English call biscuits the same as your cookies?

Thank you. It was important to me that I convey the attendance and mood as much as possible. The media tends to minimize it, imo. I wish everyone could have been there! :)

need to be steadfast, unmovable, always in prayer and fasting

That last word could use some punching up, some emphasis. Remember when Queen Esther and her maidens fasted and prayed for three days before she sought the king's favor to let her people live (Jews in captivity who were condemned to die), and God delivered them. Fasting doesn't change God but it changes us so that we are more in tune with His will and sharper in knowing how to pray to defeat the works of darkness, which are abounding in this election cycle.

RoseofTexas, your post is fantastic.

I would also like to know how many of the supporters are bused in from place to place to see Kerry?

You answered my question exactly.

Biscuits in my world are made from a rolled flour dough made with yeast or baking soda, and cut into about 2" rounds before being baked. They are not sweet but they're very good. Usual uses include being eaten with a bowl of chili or soup, or chicken with gravy, as a side to a salad, or as a starch substitute with just about any routine American dinner. Best if served warm with butter.

American (non-Internet) cookies are in the dessert category.

What do the British mean when they say biscuit?

I thought about your today as I passed a new beauty salon in town - it's name? Phancy's Beauty Salon!

Since I know you aren't on the left coast, I knew it wasn't you, but it sure did give me pause.

Biscuits.....sort of like a dinner roll served with a meal. Cookies, of course, are a dessert item. At least that is how I would answer your question. Maybe someone else has a better answer. It wasn't directed at me anyhow! :)

Not to frighten everyone but I read on my Naval Intelligence board that Iran is threatening to attack the US - but means our troops nearby, not the Continental US - if we continue to make noises about them working on or having nuclear weapons.

I can see it now.

The bay doors open on a US Air Force jet - and 9 of the Iran locations where nuclear fissionable material is made are gone. Poof!

If they send up jets, I'm sure they'll get shot down before they hit the Iran border.

The US response will be quick and surgical.

What I am seeing here in Minnesota seems to be a more apathetic Democrat party. There are a ton of Dems around here (Minnesota) and I get the feeling they are not very energetic this time around. They just seem angry and combative

Imagine you are a democrat (I know; but just try and pretend). Now imagine John Kerry is YOUR candidate. How enthused and happy could a person be? I hope this shames a ton of them into voting for Bush.

One thing Americans DO remember is that we haven't been attacked since 9/11. If that remains the case, Bush soaks up more votes. Even folks who aren't into politics absorb that safety factor deeply even if they don't think about it or talk about it.
