U.S. pounds Najaf rebels

NAJAF, Iraq (Reuters) - Suspected U.S. AC-130 gunships have pounded positions held by Sh'ite militiamen in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf and large orange multiple flashes have lit the night sky.
A large cloud of smoke was rising from an ancient cemetery on Thursday where rebels loyal to radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr have fought U.S. troops for two weeks.
The explosions from the bombing, that went on for more than 30 minutes, were loudly heard several km (miles) away.
The Iraqi government earlier gave Sadr a few hours to agree to its demands or face a major offensive.

go get what? as long as they are in that gold dome it might as well be made of krptonite. If they die there, they are heros for the ages to their people. they would love to die under a pile of gold flinted bricks. simply love it. we should hit em with high frequency stuff, whatever we hafve that disables people and leaves structure intact. otherwise fire up WW3.

"Bombing" should most likely read "Shelling" -- although it is possible for the AC-130 crew to lean out a window and throw bombs at those on the ground. LOL

Yeah, that's hilarious. There's no way to disguise an AC-130 gunship. It's not exactly a stealth airplane. It's more like the opposite of stealth. It's designed to be highly visible with awesome firepower to scare the daylights out of the enemy.

otherwise fire up WW3. I really don't think so. I know there are factions that would like us to fear overtly attacking Islam. But Islam has always understood when it was outmanned and outgunned. The rest has always appreciated wise leadership over foolish.
Remember that attacking Iraq was supposed to start WWIII.
