Sen. John Kerry is blasting President Bush for his plan to withdraw 70,000 troops from South Korea and Germany. But less than three weeks ago the top Democrat said he thought such troop reductions were a good idea, specifically naming Europe and Korea.
"I will have significant, enormous reduction in the level of troops," Kerry told ABC's "This Week" on Aug. 1.
"I think we can significantly change the deployment of troops [in Iraq], not just there but elsewhere in the world. In the Korean peninsula perhaps, in Europe perhaps. There are great possibilities open to us. But this administration has very little imagination."
Addressing a VFW convention on Wednesday, however, Kerry bashed Bush for taking his advice, charging that cutting our forces in Korea "is clearly the wrong signal to send" at this time.
As noted by the Weekly Standard, which unearthed the Aug 1 Kerry quotes on its web site Thursday, "Who knows what Sen. Kerry believes? Does Sen. Kerry even know?"
LMAO, now I have coffee all over my keyboard. Too funny.
Maybe it was Kerry's evil Bizarro twin...
If George Bush said the sky was blue, Kerry would disagree. It is so childish.
MAJOR KERRY FLIP FLOP ON KOREA/GERMANY PULLOUT NOT NOTICED BY THE MEDIA - JOHN KERRY INTERVIEW 8/2/04 BY GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS
[1]10:46:54 GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS (ABC NEWS)
(OC) Can you promise that American troops will be home by the end of your first term?
[1]10:46:57 SENATOR JOHN F. KERRY (DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE)
I will have significant, enormous reduction in the level of troops. We will probably have a continued presence of some kind, certainly in the region. If the diplomacy that I believe can be put in place can work, I think we can significantly change the deployment of troops, not just there but elsewhere in the world. In the KOREAN PENINSULA PERHAPS, IN EUROPE PERHAPS. There are great possibilities open to us. But this administration has had very little imagination, enormous sort of ideological fixation and, frankly, took its eye off the war against al Qaeda and the war on terror shifting it to Iraq at enormous cost to the American people and to the legitimacy of the war on terror.

It seems that all Kerry does is bash Bush . . . and say he's got a plan. Even the Bush haters I know don't like Kerry.
I can't wait to see what he had to say during the years of the liberals screaming for the "PEACE" dividend after the "supposed" end of the cold war.
Back in the days when Congress could not make such decisions about "base" closures, had to get themselves a "commission" to do the dirty work.
On Special Report almost every night, Carl Cameron will show a clip of what Kerry said that day and then..
Cameron says, we'll not's not exactly correct.
Then he will detail that Kerry in fact, did not vote against the bill that he just said he did-he never voted.
Or he said something that is 180 from what he said two weeks ago.
The MSM is MIA Big Time.
Flip flops is too benign a term for Kerry's bizarre behavior.
What an excellent topic for a letter to the editor - great post!
Thanks. Tooo bad most of the stuff from Newsmax never gets in the mainstream press.
Ok...someone with flash movie experience needs to do this. Take the Disney movie Peter Pan...the part where Smeade is going to shave Hook in the beginning. Do a scene similar to that where it's Kerry's hairdresser...then when the Swift Vets, RNC, et al (crocodile) show up..his Botox eyebrows start tick-tocking...but instead of the tick tock sound...it's a flip flop sound. He can only tolerate so much questioning of his record before screaming out "TEEEERRREEZZAAAHHH" (aka Smeade).
I'll give up the rights on the idea...if someone will just do it.
;)
Dont' know how to do the flash movie but there are alot of creative people on Free Republic who could do it.
NATO announced today that it supports W's plan and thinks it is right on the money. John Boy will flip back tomorrow.
LOL I am sure he will. He keeps punching his own liberal democrats in the eye.
I'm still in shock!
