Don't know much. He was testifying to the Armed Services Committee and McCain started whining, literally whining, about not being informed. Rumsfeld gave them a very crisp list of all the steps that had been taken to keep the committee informed. Then when they said 'that wasn't specific,' Rumsfeld said that's because we don't know specifics yet. You could almost hear him put the word 'dummy' after every sentence to McCain. Voice dripping with sarcasm, as only Rumsfeld can do.

Then when they said 'that wasn't specific,' Ah, the all-purpose fall-back complaint when there's nothing real to complain about.
Thanks!

Hildebeast should ask her husband that question and NOT Rumsfeld. She has more access to Rumsfeld.

Hillary let the cat out of the bag about the 17 Senators knowing about AbuGharaib abuses before Rumsfeld or DOD did and Rumsfeld called her on it in public hearings.
She's probably been waiting for some opportunity to try and strike back at him.
As for this Kristin Berk-person, I'm betting there are MANY 9-11 families who cringe at the idea of her being labeled as their "spokesperson". I know I would.

I would have loved to hear Rumsfeld's response to Hillary -- just for the record. She is what she sits on.

I have a feeling you're right. There are only so many reasons why so many people are so deferential to this grotesque hag. There are times I truly believe that she is the anti-Christ and her skirt-chasing consort was merely a pawn.

Well, ma'am, you don't un-do eight years of ineptitude in 8 months." And you know he practically bit his tongue off, refraining from that response, wishing it was November 4th, instaed of 10 weeks out from election day.

You're right, he did play it straight. Maybe I just hear sarcasm in everything Rumsfeld says, particularly to Senators! At any rate, he definitely put McCain in his place.

What the H E double L? Just like the Democrats. Take something Clinton has been accused of for years (and had a lousy explanation why he didn't) and turn it around and try to blame the Bush Administration.
Why isn't she asking her dear Hubby why HE DID NOT TAKE BIN LADEN WHEN HE WAS OFFERED (BY SUDAN)?????
I hope Sean Hannity has a field day with this one!!!

You hit the nail on the Head Blackdog, its the oldest philosophical and psychological trick there is: distract someone from your own obvious flaws by putting them on the defensive with an outrageous, unfounded and prejudiced claim. There are no better/more effective practitioners of this than "The Entire Clinton Machine". Remember, it was She who kept him in Power for 8 years w/ her own West Wing Spin Office.

"New York Sen. Hillary Clinton questioned Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Tuesday about claims that the Bush administration missed a chance to kill Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks, asking him to explain the failure to 9/11 victim families."
The hearing was suddenly adjourned when visibility in the room was reduced to zero by the irony, which hung thick and heavy in the air.
To: wagglebee
He should have asked this witch where her hubby was when the the Twin Towers were attacked for the first time. How come he couldn't catch these terrorists after we were attacked time and time again!
