I don't understand the Jewish community's ties to the Democrats. It really makes no sense. Republicans have a better Israeli policy, have a better tax policy, and have a stronger policy on National Defense.

The only thing that I can think of that might be a drawback is the religious ties that the party has with the Christian conservatives that might turn the Jewish population off. But besides that Jews are generally successful and care about their homeland, and should buy into the Republican message hook, line, and sinker. I just don't get it. Never have, and never will.

Country clubs. I'm sure many Jews still associate the GOP with the blue-blooded Brahmins who wouldn't let their relatives join the Myopia Hunt Club.

Same thing with the Irish. Most Irish Catholics up here in Boston are more conservative than Ralph Reed, but wouldn't ever vote for a Republican lest their long-deceased relatives who faced "Irish Need Not Apply" signs in store windows roll over in their graves.

I don't understand why Christian conservatives turn off Jews!! We are Israel's bggest supporters!!

If someone says that Christians try to convert them I say PHOOEY....how weak!! Ihave been accosted many, many many times by Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses, Baptists at times to convert from Catholicism, and it wouldn't cross my mind to hold it agianst these people.

Common Sense should tell them the christians support Israel, and the Muslims don't...so if democrats support the Muslims, just where does that leave the Jews that voted for Kerry after the election is over???

You are correct in the "Christian" concern of the Jews. With the exception of the Jewish group "Toward Tradition" most Jews think that Christian groups are strongly interested in the conversion of Jews. However that is not the main concern. Jews get brain washed by their social leaders and the Rabbinate who come from liberal controlled schools and become the main source of Rabbis when hiring a Rabbi is done. The temples have liberal lay leadership and they hire the Rabbis from the Union of Reform Rabbis the circle is complete. Conservative voices are being raised more often these days because of the points you cite. But there is a long tradition of supporting the liberal forces who were responsible for accepting the Jew and breaking down the barriers in business social circles. But todays liberals are not the same ones who opened the doors to the country clubs and golf courses.

Look at the "Hollywood elite". The percentage of Jewish people in H'wood is stunning. They are way left liberal and buy into the Dem "we libs are the only tolerant Americans" ethos. They identify with all the "victim" groups because of the historic victim nature of the Jews.

I have Jewish friends who are for George Bush because of Israel and national security, and they are trying to influence others in their community, but it is an uphill battle.

Look at the blacks and go figure. They just don't seem to have any analytical ability. They just follow the spin, with no clue as to where their true interests lie.
