Pretty easy on the eyes, too. ;)
If you are using it anarthrously, it is a proper noun and must be capitalized: "God."
Otherwise, you must modify it, as in "a god."
Dan
What do you have against Hannity? He's probably doing more than any other talk show host as to promoting the Republican Party and President Bush to the "undecideds"!
I love Rush, G. Gordon, etc. to death, but they preach to the choir.
Well, it's perspective time here folks. First, the people in "flyover country" could give a (democ)rat's rear-end about the "elites" showing up and prancing around on stage. They, like me, want to be entertained for a few minutes by folks who are PROUD of their country and humble to be blessed with many opportunities for success in their lives, but who are not the center of attention. The fact that some of these entertainers are Christians, not some kabala-come-lately bimbos makes it even better.
They, like me, want to see the people who we are voting for and see what THEY have to say. The convention isn't about some pompous ass actor who is 3 sheets in the wind and feeling up some campaign aide for the world to see, it's about the guys running the country and the plans they have for the next 4 years.
Besides that, the REAL story is that 1 in 5 delegates and a TON of people who will be on stage are VETERANS. What we should and will see is a group of TRUE heros, not some dork who pretends to be one. We will see men who served proudly and chose NOT to spit on their fellow servicemen for political expediency. We will see the love and admiration they have for their Commander In Chief, and the man who those military personnel still serving overseas also love and respect.
THAT is what the GOP should present to the country. Frankly I would rather see men who put it all on the line for our great country on stage saying nothing at all than some silicone-enhanced dimwit wearing dental floss and spewing hate-filled rhetoric about our country any day.
Boring? To some of you, maybe. But, to me, this is exactly what the GOP needs to show: a stark contrast to the "3 cheeseburger" Moore brigade of America-haters.
He's our Ron Silver now.
host/emcee: Ron Silver
co-host: Kelsey Grammar
blues performance by Bruce Willis
performance by: Jessica Simpson
Comedy break with: Dennis Miller
Musical performance: Steven Tyler with Aerosmith
patriotic reading by: Robert Duvall
In praise of the troops: Angie Harmon and Freddie Prinze Jr.
Face it, my line up ROCKS! Who's with me?
Jealous?
You mean infamous? Whole some entertainment like the Gatlin's and Michael Smith sell as many records as the Dixie Chickens and John Mellencrap.
OPs4 God BLess America!
Well, I've heard of The Gatlin Brothers and Sara Evans, but thats it! This is a 'C' or 'D' lineup, at best.
Oh, that's Ron Silver. I remember him from "Wiseguy." Vaguely.
But then that's music.
What's wrong with Hannity?
Where's Bruce Willis? Charlie Daniels? Mel Gibson? Sammy Hagar even?!
Nope, its Reba. Bonnie Raitt's a flaming lib.
(Hope the boy remembers the one tune he ever sings!)
I am not big into country either, but have my own list of favorite conservative musicians:
Sammy Hagar
Ted Nugent
Kid Rock (not a fave, but I do have a new respect for him since finding out he's pro-Bush)
Metallica (James Hetfield is a conservative but not particularly politically active--definitely pro-gun though)
Poison (CC DeVille is a Pubbie)
I believe Toby is registered as a Dem, but I think he does support Bush. He's probably a Zell Miller Democrat.
Aren't you thinking of "Goodbye Earl" by the Dixie Chicks??
Hey cool, look, it's Michael W Smith performing at the RNC!
